Good move if you have plenty of spare cash and don’t need to work

Warwick

You will need to prove that you have an income of £2000 per month now before you can go and live in Spain. Not as easy as it was last year

What you decide to do is really dependent on what you are into. Only you will know that. There's so many alternatives.

We love the Spanish. Love their culture, their language, their way of life. We moved into the middle of a very Spanish community and found them very accepting of us and are extremely polite and friendly. And yes we made the move in the middle of a pandemic to beat Brexit deadlines.

And that's your main problem, to get residencia now will be far more difficult than it was before 31 December 2020.

Don't be disheartened though. It's a beautiful part of the world with lovely people and despite all the adversity we have encountered have not for one split second regretted our move.

Good luck!

Have you ever been to PDI? Or the other areas of Spain you mentioned thinking about moving to? I'd suggest spending time there first so you can make your own informed decisions.

Banff

Have owned a property in Fuerteventura for years. Lovely during the winter months. Would we live here all the time? Not a chance! Certainly try before you buy.

Good advice. PDI is a bit ‘kiss me quick’ kinda a place and can be a bit naff and is soulless if you spend more than two weeks there. GC has places and landscapes that are absolutely beautiful - have a good look around first before you spend your cash.

Alicante, Spain. (Sometimes in Wales)

It'll only be harder to get residencia Post Brexit if you are in fact British!

I'm Irish and I got my green card the day after my application was submitted. No TIE for me, I'm an EU citizen!

Hah! Sorry, wasn't trying to sound smug. I'm just so happy that I have dual nationality.

Smart move

Not viable for us just yet. Might just have to get my Irish passport
