I'm moving to Spain in the next 12 months hopefully. Probably just north of Benidorm.

Any naturist beaches or swingers clubs near albir/altea that anyone can recommend please?

There are quite a few entry requirements post 31 December so check them out. From what friends have told me already you can forget it if you have any serious medical conditions or a criminal record.

We have lived out here for just over 2 years now and taken our time to get things sorted, the difference now just seems to be they want everything sorted within the first 6 months, they have always wanted you to have medical insurance except if you live and work here and are on the system then you can apply to be on the Spanish health state system, matriculation, driving licenses, NIE and residencia has always been required just some people have been slow getting it together, biggest help is to learn and speak Spanish! take care and good luck.... there are lots of lovely beaches down this way !

Anybody planning to spend more than 183 days a year in Spain should be aware that by law they have to declare themselves tax resident in Spain and pay tax on all their worldwide income in Spain not in the U.K. it’s not a choice it’s a legal requirement . The only exception is a U.K. civil service pension.Properties owned in the in the U.K. have to be declared too. Up to this Covid year we spent just under 183 days a year there and it amazed us how many expats lived under the radar and never declared themselves tax resident . All it needed was an argument in the local bar or with the next door neighbour and they could get dobbed in to the authorities . The fines are huge .

Apparently the Spanish government see expats as a good way to recover some of the money they have spent during the coronavirus pandemic. We don’t live in Spain but do have a property there which we visit regularly, fortunately our solicitor there is a good friend and has helped us get ready for 1 January but he says that a lot of expats are in for a big shock next year.

You are spot on. I have been resident for 3 years plus. Although it does cost me more in tax, im happy for the pleasure of living here in the sun and didn't want to carry on ducking the radar. I few people will be in for a very big shock.

I live here full time half way between the airport and Benidorm.

If you live here and have property

And not resident you will be in for a massive shock

SPAIN

Moved a year ago. Got my “Residencia” far easier & quicker than expected. Though the change of Driving License took a bit longer. The life is far better than back in the UK, & the climate makes up for anything I might miss.

Good luck with your move & enjoy it. It’s all part of life’s big adventure.
