Poxy government can't make their mind up. They just want to pee people off so we don't go abroad but instead go to bognor for a free daily car wash!

Such a pain, I feel sorry for everyone due to get away.

Can only hope it changes again by February, selfish I know but I'm due to go then.

UK just reduced the isolation period to 10 days. So those coming back to the UK in the next few days will get their Xmas back without having to pay for the PCR test.

I'd guess there will be some full planes back from the islands this weekend.

And as from next Tuesday, testing negative after 5 days means you can shorten the quarantine further.

Yes, do we know what kind of test the UK require yet? Our flights still going so we are looking at our options, still hopeful to get out there on Boxing Day! Not quite ready to give up yet x

It's been on the news, also applies here if anyone has to isolate, if they have been in contact with an infected person.

This whole thing was caused by the Bank Holiday on Tuesday. They made the Monday a holiday and therefore didn't report figures for 5 days which made it look like a huge spike.

In a week's time the figures will be back to normal.

You'd have thought common sense would have had a roll in this...

They haven't confirmed yet, but looks like LAMP with one of their authorised providers. There will be a link in the government website soon, so you can link the info with your online form when returning to the UK, test should be booked before returning etc. Seems quite straightforward.

Looks like our flights for the 27th are still going, but I have plan b & plan c ready just in case.

Easyjet confirmed like the others they will be flying as normal as the FCO advice says you can.

What Shapps has done is down to his department.

Mr O'LEARY at Ryanair will be running around saying.. told you so..told you so..

Unfortunately for us. We cannot isolate on return..

Till next year !

I’m in Tenerife to 23rd not going shorten my holiday, I do think now the government haven’t got a clue, don’t understand why we got pay for another COVID test when you can get a free one on NHS,and that’s not good enough, feel like we are been punished for going on holiday, and having fun, Tenerife was took off the list no one could fly out here in November, though, flights are only half full everyone who came has to have a covid test so how can it be going up it’s seams load bull shit to me

The free test on the NHS is likely to take 4 days to get the results, the whole point of taking a test on day 5, is that it's a LAMP test and gives fast results allowing you to end quarantine 5 days early. So you want your extra 5 days of freedom, you have to pay for it. And yes, if you choose to travel, you pay the costs.

As for why it's still spreading in Tenerife, ask the bar owner who has been arrested for having another party with over 70 people at it, or the other bar owner having illegal poker nights.
