??? The approved measures will be applied the day after their publication in the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands (BOC) and until Sunday, January 10

Consult the complete information in the BOC ?? http://www.gobiernodecanarias.org/boc/2020/248/006.html

_ENCOUNTS_

Limitation to 6?? people the number of attendees to the meetings

??? ?? Exceptionally, family or close friends meetings are set at a maximum of ?? people on December 24, 25 and 31, and January 1 and 6, if the pandemic situation of the island allows it

???? Children 0-6 years old are excluded from the calculation

The recommendation is that these meetings bring together exclusively members of the same coexistence group or the two groups are not exceeded

???? It is recommended to take special care with people in situations of vulnerability in the face of COVID-19

_NIGHT CIRCULATION_

?? ?? The freedom of night movement will be limited from 1:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. between December 23, 2020 and January 10, 2021, except for the performance of essential activities set out in article 5 of Royal Decree 926/2020 , of October 25

On the nights from December 24 to 25 and from December 31 to January 1, the restriction hours start at 1.30 and last until 6.00.

_HOSTELING AND RESTORATION_

???? Complete closure of establishments before midnight (except on islands with greater restrictions due to their pandemic situation), the maximum occupancy per table of six people and the distance between adjacent table chairs of at least two meters.

Visits to portals of Belén or Reyes Magos, can be organized as long as there is a delimited space where access and capacity can be controlled, guaranteeing the maintenance of interpersonal safety distance, use of a mask and the rest of general preventive measures . They should preferably be outdoors.

_RELIGIOUS CELEBRATIONS_

The president of the Canary Islands, Ángel Víctor Torres, announced this Friday that from this Saturday 5 December and until the next saturday in Tenerife there will be a curfew from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m., to stop the advance of the coronavirus on the island.

After the meeting of an extraordinary council, Ángel Víctor Torres has indicated that, in addition, the capacity allowed in group activities, which in the rest of the islands is six people, in the case of Tenerife is reduced to four during the next fourteen days

The rest of the rules are the same as the rest of the Canary Islands!!!!

Hello! I'm starting to question my understanding and I know you guys are up on the rules, obviously. Are the bars in GC having to close at 11pm from 23rd December to 10th January, barring Christmas and New year's eve? It's not really relevant, as things are changing so much with Covid. The knowledge comes from people living there/ business owners, that's why I directed you to this thread, they're the people who are kept up to date. Anyway, it is what it is, it could all change again, for better or worse, by the time you go, none of us can change that.

Samiss, from my perspective, I love every post you make. You're positive and non confrontational and a great source of information. You can't please all of the people all if the time, but you certainly please a lot of us please don't let anyone censor you.

You're the kind of person I come on to the forums to converse with.

To those opposed. It is a sad world where on other threads for other topics, some people are at each others throats and swinging handbags at each other. But no one minds that. But just lets people engage in lighthearted banter and some people are up in arms.

Let's try think about what these forums are about. We are swingers and we are on fab to form relationships and make friends. So let's do that. Rather than making this a battle ground where we vent our frustration on others.

So come on guys. Let's love each other. We are a marginalised community who should be sticking together. Not fighting amongst ourselves.

My understanding is that the information given was a quote directly made from the Canarian Weekly. As a resident I read it all the time and was also confused because they posted rules applicable to Tenerife only without specifically stating such. One has to read other artices that refer to the spike in Tenerife which has not occurred in GC. There's another article which specifies the rules for Tenerife only. Unfortunately the statements are made by the Canarian Authorities which makes the restrictions seem applicable to the entire Archipelago.

For the record Tenerife is red on the EU traffic light system whilst GC is green. These are very heavily concentrated in Las Palmas.

Sammis is not posting anything what's not true, it's all true only some new government rules apply for all the Islands and other stronger rules are for Tenerife only!!

The government makes it harder to understand not some people here on the forum.....

With all do respect, if you want to know what the real truth is, then only trust the official published in BOC and not the Canary weekly.....

I life here and everything I publish and share in this forum is official published by the Government of the Canary Islands.

These are the new rules for all the islands (except Tenerife);

*SPECIFIC MEASURES OF THE GOVERNMENT OF THE CANARY ISLANDS FOR THE CELEBRATION OF THE CHRISTMAS FESTIVALS BY # COVID19

*The approved measures will be applied the day after their publication in the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands (BOC) and until Sunday, January 10

*Consult the complete information in the BOC http://www.gobiernodecanarias.org/boc/2020/248/006.html

_ENCOUNTS_

*Limitation to 6 people the number of attendees to the meetings

*Exceptionally, family or close friends meetings are set at a maximum of 10 people on December 24, 25 and 31, and January 1 and 6, if the pandemic situation of the island allows it

*Children 0-6 years old are excluded from the calculation

*The recommendation is that these meetings bring together exclusively members of the same coexistence group or the two groups are not exceeded

*It is recommended to take special care with people in situations of vulnerability in the face of COVID-19

_NIGHT CIRCULATION_

*The freedom of night movement will be limited from 1:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. between December 23, 2020 and January 10, 2021, except for the performance of essential activities set out in article 5 of Royal Decree 926/2020 , of October 25

Samiss, from my perspective, I love every post you make. You're positive and non confrontational and a great source of information.

But it’s wrong to post when the information is hearsay or just plainly not true

No one is fighting, we are just asking to post things that are correct at the time

These are the new rules for all the islands (except Tenerife);

*On the nights from December 24 to 25 and from December 31 to January 1, the restriction hours start at 1.30 and last until 6.00.

_HOSTELING AND RESTORATION_

*Complete closure of establishments before midnight (except on islands with greater restrictions due to their pandemic situation), the maximum occupancy per table of six people and the distance between adjacent table chairs of at least two meters.

Benidorm Spain

One of the major problems I think we all have, is that information changes so often, and rules can vary. The canaries have had different rules to mainland Spain so often as well.

I mean, even mainland Spain, the curfew is 11-6 in some areas but because the government have allowed an hour deviation here, we have the valencian province midnight til 6.

Many regions are closing bars at 10-10.30 for an 11pm curfew, but here in benidorm bars can ope til midnight with no new customers after 11. If I’m in a bar at 11:30 I can still buy a drink as long as I’m off their premises before midnight. We usually leave around 10 to as We’re only a few minutes walk from our preferred local.

Had I stated in my original post this was for my region, the confusion may have been avoided so apologies for that.

Hope you’re all well x

Benidorm Spain

It’s tough not working, but I can still see people and co for a coffee, an beer or whatever. Sad to see benidorm so quiet, but ultimately I’m ok and still pretty lucky.
