Zurich. NOT London.

One of the few places in Europe downgraded to Orange.

The issue will still be people travelling in from high risk countries, like the UK

The risk is lessened because of the testing.

"The risk is lessened because of the testing."

This. And as of the 23rd anybody entering from any high risk country, including the mainland has to have a negative test. Therefore minimising the risk.

Props to Gran Canaria.

From our recent experience, we were very comfortable with how they were managing it.

We went preTesting, and like we mentioned in previous posts a few months back, we took a decision to have a different type of holiday to the normal PDI-fest (no less enjoyable I hasten to add).

Prior to flying out, we took a decision to isolate and stay home for a couple of weeks (though we’ve been home for the most part over the last 8 months).

At the airport, a visual check, temperature tested and qr code scanned for the Health Questionnaire.

We chose to limit ourselves to a few bars/restaurants and stayed in the open.

Days were spent watching sports with a fantastic strawberry daiquiri and Mojito burger at Maclennan’s. Homemade chips as well mmm

Inside, we went to two places Imagine Bar who make a fantastic burger and bitterballen. They were checking temperatures on arrival.

And we went to secret a few times based on it being 900m2. Again temperature tested and name/number recorded.

We saw police pull up a couple having a cigarette by their car in a quiet street for not having masks on.

The efforts we witnessed, we can only commend.

The added measures will no doubt add to minimising the risk and we hope the island continues with its success and can rebuild it’s economy.

Here’s to hoping 2021 is healthy and prosperous one!
