Not sure why they are doing that? Looks like half a story and the other half made up.

There is a vote today and it’s looking like there will be no need for PCR tests. (Unless the Uk demand it)

Antigen looks like it’s going to be voted for today to be passed for Monday

Here's hoping. Could be a game changer for the islands

Thank you again for keeping everyone informed.

Hopefully that will bring some much needed tourism income to the islands.

It is good, it’s the thing we all wanted. The testing main land wanted is to long winded, far to costly for a family. Now the vote is for only EU members. So coming from the Uk should be no problems at all. Now going back from here to the Uk I don’t know...

It’s an EU vote. The details have been worked on for the past few weeks.

So, sorry if this is a silly question.

We are travelling from Northern Ireland (so classed as UK) but flying from Dublin.

We can get tests done here for £50 each, assume it is better to get tested in order to travel, but if we don’t get tested here we can get tested in T1 in the airport on arrival? If so how much is that?

I think we would prefer to get tested and know we are safe to travel.

If it's after November 23rd, you need a negative test before you go. We are waiting for confirmation of whether that test has to be PCR or if the quicker Antigen test will suffice. Upto €6000 fine without a negative test result.

No it's not scaremongering, the rules change all the time. As from 23rd November, you have to have a negative test to get into the country, if you are travelling from a risk area. No test, no entry into the country and a fine.

Is the NI lockdown rule different to the England one ie you can go away on holiday ? I know Scotland is different because whereas we had to return a week early from Lanzarote as Jet 2 wanted to fill their return flights up the Scots we got to know who were flying back to Glasgow and Edinburgh could finish their holidays off.

Covid Tests.

Wife and i have paid £170 for two home tests. Flying out on sat 28th Jet 2 from Glasgow and we require covid test done at home 72 hours prior to check in time. then drive one hour to dx couriers who will then send them to Antrim for testing then they will send electronic proof of pass which MUST be produced on check in.

A friend has informed us of the available tests for this local to where we live.

PM if you want further details.

Again we have to confirm these are the PCR tests with them.

Yes. It is different. Lockdown was extended here again but no suggestion of travel restrictions from what I have read so far.

Give it another day or so, it's possible the antigen test will be acceptable. The EU has suggested that this should be the way forward. I believe it's being voted on today.
