Probably wait and see what brexit ends up like.

There's probably some bargains now and it probably won't change in the immediate future.

Also consider cheap flights may be a thing of the past depending how long Covid lasts

So the aircraft owned by Messrs Easyjet, Ryanair, Wizz, Jet2 etc will end up where? Being bought by a new company, very cheaply, enabling them to continue to offer cheap flights!

From where I am, the glass is just over half full.

Let us know if you plan to proceed as we have also thought about this plan. And may know someone out there who could possibly help with searching for properties and any legal questions

Liverpool

We've also thought about buy an apartment in the Playa Del Ingles area.

Tbh, we're over there twice a year in normal times so would so no hotel costs would be nice over a long term.

I suppose the owners of Maclennan's Sports Bar would know more about the local market. With them living there x

gran canaria,Spain

we believe it is a great investment for the future What better way to retire from retirement or on vacation to a place where the weather 365 days a year is between 19-27 degrees where you can walk at dawn through the low crime of the island and above all where there is a world of atmosphere and possibilities to enjoy at any time of the year

Don't drink it too quickly then.

I hope you're right.

We are on a few agents mailing lists....., expect to pay a premium if you want PDI or even more for Maspalomas.

Move out a bit and propertied can be a third or more cheaper.

One agent told us to wait post Brexit..... there may be a bargain(ish) to be had as The Grey Haired Grannies ( his words ) return home if there's no ongoing health care etc.

Why buy ? May as well do long term renting as it leaves you more flexible to move somewhere else if you don’t like it or the neighbour from hell moves in next door. Rental money isn’t wasted because if you had say 150k to buy something either in cash or via a mortgage you could buy something in the UK ,rent it out and use that money to rent something in Spain . Capital appreciation may be better in the U.K. and you have a bolt hole for your old age when you inevitable get health problems and want to move back to the U.K. for the family support network ,NHS and social services . Don’t underestimate Spanish red tape. Also before plan to live there look up the 183 day rule for tax residency .

Don’t buy right away. Rent until you’re 100% sure where you want to buy.

We are looking for a holiday apartment, for 6 weeks a year spread over 3 visits per year.

We would probably rent it out for the rest of the year.

Would that make sense? X

Cheshire, Windermere ,Cumbria

We went over in January to look at buying, we have a place in Spain but wanted somewhere warmer in winter but now we are thinking of just renting somewhere different each winter as think it would be nice to sample living in different places instead.
