Testing in Hotels looks like it’s going to be the way forward. We need tourists end of the mater. So many people have not worked from March. No money and more importantly no food.

The Foodbank for the south was closed down yesterday.

It's a little ironc that we can't go for a drink or a meal at home but we can inflict ourselves on Gran canaria

I don't think we will be rebooking until we and everyone else can be tested before setting foot in an airplane and the cost would need to be a lot less than the current £189 per person.

We would definitely have gone in August or September but the number of cases now is far too high for comfort and the risk of boarding a flight from here.

Having said that we would love to go

Maybe see things progress in a few weeks.

But why not come back here and fly back again (worth a try!)

Just as a matter of interest, there have only ever been 44 confirmed plane covid transmissions and most of them were before masks. The odds are 1 in 27 million....

I think if people are tested before flying and temperature checked on arrival, it cuts down the chances immensely.

Las Palmas airport were super friendly and welcoming. So don't worry about not being wanted in GC.

I've had my temperature checked more times in GC in a week than I have in 6 months in the UK.

Absolutely advise if you can, get on a plane and come over. Hotels are cheap, prices are low, bars are open. Gutted our home flights won't be cancelled

Safe as houses when we get there I know, in northern ireland we have probably the higslest number per 100000 in the world at the moment which is not confidence inspiring no matter what the safety stats of flying. Maybe in a few weeks once the dust settles.

I don't trust them.

Schedule to travel to pdi end of Nov for 2 weeks but we've decided Tonight to take J2 offer and defer untill 2021

We can't afford to both quarantine if it changes back

If it changes back while we're there a quick exit to beat a deadline will see flights rocketing in Price to the UK.

Is there any guarantees this will not change? We've not seen any

We're probably regret it but It's just a risk we can't afford at this present time.

Were gutted but we'll be there next year hopefully in better times for a better holiday

Surely if countries, and now counties/districts are in local lockdown people shouldn't be allowed to travel from those high risk areas for fear of carrying infection to another country?

We are booked to go 2nd to 9th and this is great news as we couldn't afford to quarantine as we both self employed. Great that quarantine lifted but now we have the moral quandary of living in one of the areas where increased measures are currently in place!!

Yes we are too, and are prepared to pretty much quarantine BEFORE we go.

If they bring in the testing on arrival we will go as it would greatly reduced the risk although not 100% obviously.

If they bring in testing 48 hours before departure we won't

If there's no testing we won't because we go primarily for the clubs nowadays.

Just a waiting game now.

I hate defending the airlines but most of the price increases are automatic, and are due to more people having bought tickets. Which is good for the islands as more people will be out here.

To be honest, the price is now putting more people off ie us! To take the chance, it's the islands who lose not the airlines.
