Hi all, I'm heading to Corralego on 17th October and was wondering if the place is still open? I'm hearing bars are half empty/ closed and the beaches are deserted.....can anyone advise if this is the case?

Thinking of heading our there on the 3rd or 6th for 10 days but will probably base myself in Caleta although not 100% decided yet. I'll update you when I'm out there!

Yes, we have a friend who lives there. Most of the hotels and bars are closed and more are closing, there are very few tourists.

There are places open to eat and drink in Caleta. Not many tourists about but that can be a positive too

currently in corralejo, bars and restaurants are practically empty, music square has only 1 restaurant and 3 cocktail bars open and is pretty much deserted. not been to the beach yet, the main strip both in the day and night is dead, lots of shops shut

I live in Fuerteventura and yes there are a few bars and restaurants closed (some only open thurs-sunday) but there is still loads of choice .. no where near as busy as normal but no tourists so mainly locals and expats .. beaches are quiet but that can also a good thing.. it's a lot easier to get in the best restaurants that are normally fully booked this time of year and the stone pods aren't full or meerkats....

If anyone needs any info (with in reason lol)feel free to DM me ..

Jet2 has cancelled our holiday for the end of October and beginning of November, so have booked for May next year now.

"Jet2 has cancelled our holiday for the end of October and beginning of November, so have booked for May next year now. "

Book with Ryanair. I flew in with them today and no issues at all. Less than 15 minutes between bag scan at Manchester Airport and Passport control in Fuerteventura. Had a full row to myself on the flight as well.

Seems a bit quiet here in Corralejo but just means I get more beach to myself tomorrow.

Anyone in Fuerte fancy meeting for a social over the next week? I've found a nice local in Corralejo but a change of scenery won't do any harm. Can't see anyone on the island where I match their/they match my requirements so I'm not expecting anything other than a drink!

Corralejo/Caleta/Cotillo anyone?

What part of La Oliva are you staying?

I am in Corralejo but as people have recommended previously I spend a lot of time at the El Cotillo lagoons as well as the beautiful Dunes Beach as you're coming into Corralejo.

For some weird reason this site I am unable to connect to this site using data roaming, , I can only connect using an internet connection, , all other sites are fine but I am unable to use the who's near feature.

Anyway, like a lot of people on here I spend a lot of time on the Island so just ask if you want to know anything.

I would recommend the Lagoons at El Cotillo which are to your left as you approach the lighthouse and if you want to stay fairly local the Grandes Playa Beach as your coming into Corralejo, , these are stunning beaches that are on your doorstep.

Enjoy your holiday, , it's going to be a beautiful week.

Not sure why you've an issue using the site. My phone is actually broken so can't use it without a Wi-Fi signal anyway. But I can see the who's near.

Hahaha, , it's a place to easily fall in love with.

Not sure what's wrong with the connection, , it tells me I've timed out and gives me the option to reconnect but then nothing, , but using broadband it works fine, , I'll give it another go today.

Have a great day.

I was down on the kite beach in Corralejo a few days ago and the signal does cut out a lot you just have to persevere! Strangely it didn't affect me playing any online music but did affect me accessing other sites.

I'm staying in Corralejo, , it's been a ritual for the past 11 years, I love the place, and , , , I love goat

As for the signal, everything else works fine but it still comes up "This site can't be reached, m.fabswingers.com unexpectedly closed the connection".

It just won't connect using data,, , , very weird.

El Cotillo was so hot today and full of sea again.

A beautiful day though, extremely relaxing, but lots of camper vans.

Looks like you're not allowed to use the marijuana word on here even if it's innocently used as part of another word.

My parasol blew off (not a euphemism) in the lagoons last week and I had an embarrassing scramble over the rocks to catch the barsteward!

Did I use that word unexpectedly?

Hope you guys are having a great holiday

I'd PM you but single dudes are blocked.

I'm here for next 4 nights for anyone that fancies a drink? If you're any good at pub quizzes there's one here on Thu and I could do with some team-mates.

Off to Cotillo again tomorrow. Day in the lagoons and hopefully get to see a belting sunset with a couple of bevvies before heading back to Corralejo on the peasant wagon.

Not sure what I'm at on Thursday but I'll drop you a pm if I'm heading into town might be up for a pub quiz. Hard to beat the local pub up here. 2 bottles of beer for 3 euro. When you get used to those prices corralejo sounds expensive lolJames

Fuerteventura now at an incidence rate of 16.26 per 100,000 and falling and remains on HM Government FO's list of places to avoid.

The idiocy of this Government is at genuinely alarming proportions.
