Rises in Covid Cases

UK Goverment today says Exponential rise in covid cases in France and Spain. I was hoping for a miracle as I'm in PDI 2nd October but I've now come to realise that PDI in 2020 is very, very unlikely.

"What are the numbers in GC / PDI? "

Very low in the south high in the north.

Also canarian weekly does it give you the same numbers as the governments figures. Last week one day there was 107 extra cases reported by Canarian weekly vs the governments figure.

Being completely honest, I haven't done a comparison. I find the Canarian useful as it's in English. It appears as you say, that the cases are centred in Las Palmas. We fly on Saturday, the Swiss haven't put the Canaries on their naughty list yet.

Euro weekly news is a pile of wank. Saw on Facebook as well that the owners son was sending all manner of threats to someone (friend of one of my besties) and had posted

All the screen shots.

By all accounts they seem like a right nasty family too. The kind of “journalism” that makes the bloody S*n look credible. Awful what they have been posting and I agree, they are destroying so much

As long as flights going and Venus is open we will go! At the end of the day this disease is no more dangerous than the myriad of communicable diseases we don’t even think about! We are susceptible to all of them, it’s just that the media keep pushing negative info fir this one fir some reason. The virus has a 99.4% survival rate which is more favourable than SARS was but we didn’t do anything like this fir that

Spoke to Venus Star today, they said they are heavily booked fir October and November and will be open for guests as long as the government doesn’t shut them down, which in their words was unlikely. I’m here now ,and everyone is wearing a mask in public I have not seen one person without one ,sanitizer stations in every shop , bar etc I feel more safer here than back home ,I was nervous about the flight but Ryan air staff were brilliant, they told everyone to Keep the mask on during the flight unless drinking or eating , and to remain in your seat unless you need the toilet , you had to ring the bell and they would come and escort you to the toilet so , no one was walking around. One woman tried to do this and was jumped on by the staff and warned to stay sitting , but lots of shops , bars are up for sale or have closed down ,And without the Germans it’s dead

Cap d’Agde, France

From our experience there seems a tad of an over reaction to this virus.

Yes it’s a nasty one and quite contagious but if you’re in reasonable health there should be nothing to worry you.

We live in a coronavirus hotspot, Cap D’Agde in France, where they have been offering free tests.

A month ago, both ourselves and another couple were tested positive.

We are all in our sixties but our symptoms were all extremely mild.

On the other hand we have friends and family who are currently dealing with cancer, heart disease and the results of stroke.

Let’s try and put this virus in the right context !

Very valid point that you don`t hear and especially as you`ve had it, something else people have omitted to mention the deaths last year for flu were higher than those for the coronavirus, take care all and keep fighting it.

If you’re stood naked next to a naked man who tries to pee on your leg, you’ll get wet.

If you’re stood wearing pants next to a naked man who tries to pee on your leg, you might get slightly wet.

If you’re stood wearing pants next to a man wearing pants who tries to pee on your leg , you won’t get wet because he’ll pee in his pants.

It’s a very simple concept really.

Yes but in 2019/20 there were no deaths attributable to Flu vs c.17k the year before this just isn’t possible and had massively skewed the numbers we are being fed, project fear!!

Some years flu can kill a significant numbers though the yearly medium numbers for flu mortality in the uk amounts to around 8,000. Much lower than covid deaths, and we still have winter and almost a quarter of this year remaing.
