Nothing else been said, as far as I'm aware and as things aren't good in Spain, I can't see the quarantine being lifted anytime soon. Unfortunately GC is being included in that, albeit they are doing well.

Purely speculative, but reading that the review of the quarantine restrictions / non essential travel when returning from Spain will happen ‘no later than 16th Aug’, what’s people’s thoughts about whether the exclusion of this for the Canary and Balearic Islands will be introduced?

I’m sure the comparison has been drawn many times before about Spain and the islands, and Portugal and Madeira / Azores.... - although non-essential travel can be made to the Portuguese islands (insurance coverage) but isolation is required upon return.

It's a good point, is it because the Spanish go to these islands for their holidays?

Doubt it very much what with spain now having the highest rise of infections in Europe.I hope they do as need to get out there soon too.

It was announced today that facemasks have to be worn outside at all times, even on the beach. They can only be removed when going for a swim. They are also banning smoking in public places.

It certainly does. They want us to go there but they're not making it very attractive....

It’s bonkers! Who in their right mind would sunbathe on the beach with a face mask on....you’d be melting!

I don't get that one at all, they may as well just close the borders...

Just heard about the smoking , how ironic that when we were in lockdown only the supermarkets the chemist and the tobacconists were open , the lottery shops were closed so looks like the government makes more money from the tax on tobacco than the lottery and now they are banning smoking , what a very strange country we live in

Due to an increase in cases of Coronavirus, masks are now obligatory in all public spaces and gatherings of more than 10 people (both outdoors and indoors) are prohibited. Smoking is now banned anywhere where you can't be 1.5 metres from others and nightclubs are to close. The measures become official tomorrow.

Masks have to be worn to get you your spot by the pool or on the beach but not while sunbathing.

So other than nightclubs closing the rest stays just about the same.

The only Part of this that will be in forced is the nightclubs.
