Do people think by going on holiday abroad they can avoid restrictions due to COVID?

In Spain you have to wear a mask in public spaces, keep to social distancing, upon arrival have a temperature scan, state if they've had the virus and leave the address of where they are staying, all business's/shops/transport are obliged to keep their contact info. for up to 4 weeks for track & trace.

Police in Spain have already closed beaches due to overcrowding.

And if there's a spike while abroad then you may have to quarantine for 2 weeks upon coming back to the UK.

Anyway enjoy your holidays
