Sorry, it’s going to be a looooooong time before you get any action again

Oh, and dentists. You can’t go to a dentist for anything more than a checkup. If it’s bad they have to refer you to the hospital.

The hospital.

REALLY?????

The big place with sick people??? For an emergency filling????

Yes says the dentist. Sorry.

So soup for EVERYONE for 3 months

It’s not been extended to 14 weeks.

2 weeks till planned Easter break, 2 weeks holiday and it will be reviewed before the end of that period. No one will guarantee that the schools will open immediately after the planned Easter break.

Not what my sons high school sent out and I think when there is no set date people shouldn’t speculate. I’ve just had to re assure my ASD son after someone posted a comment on my Facebook saying schools weren’t going back till 18th august and he saw it and was freaking. Scottish government have said they won’t guarantee a re start date but initial period was 2 weeks plus 2 weeks planned holidays and a further update to parents will be provided before the end of the initial period is over.

If the rate of contracting the virus and deaths keep rising daily the schools will not go back until after summer holidays, it isn't speculation its something that they are preparing for and home schooling, online learning will come into effect.

But are looking to take steps for children of key workers and those vulnerable children, so trying to put something in place.

As I said not what was sent out by my sons school, (and not what was told from someone in education dept here either) speciation/misinformation is really not helpful in these times. I work frontline in nhs and we have been told there will be no provision! I’ve got 4 weeks of childcare sorted and then nothing.

I’ve spent a week dealing with poor patients who are getting misinformation also it’s really not good enough.

They will follow the Republic of Ireland. They have shut until the new school year after the summer holidays.

My son is also freaking out as he is S5 and is supposed to be doing exams.

Unfortunately, it’s not misinformation.

This will happen. Make no mistake. It’s people who have to work and look after kids that I feel most for. There is no way a single mum/dad nurse can be at work and home with her/his kids. So their only option is to stop work. So that’s another nurse we’ve lost.

I understand there aren’t the staff to keep schools open but they need to provide proper childcare for those who need to work

I’ll keep saying same thing it’s not what’s been sent out by schools here today and till told otherwise people should not be speculating speculating is what’s led to know food in shops.

I’m one of those nurses and as I said I’ve got 4 weeks sorted then nothing!

My son is s6 and exams and uni places relying on him. Doing better in his exams than he did the prelims so school are putting on additional courses and work to boost the academic grades overall as they did they don't expect any exams to be going ahead with the current timetable, and they ebeing signed up for the online uni top up courses as well

My pals the same both her and her husband are icu nurses normally only have 4 beds and 6 nurses in their ward per shift but saying they looking to move wards around and utilise the whole floor, the rumour is the hospital they work in is going to receive from. Other hospitals to free up those beds for corona patients and have one central point for infection control, how they are supposed to move high risk patients I don't know

Schools themselves are only issuing updates from local council headquarters so that they are all on message.

All Renfrewshire has done has confirmed closure on Friday, no dates and that there will be more information over coming days.

Yeah I know. Was just saying nothing official has come out yet and agreeing that speculation isn’t helpful.

Better to finalise and provide whole picture than dribs and drabs.

There is a statement tomorrow from the Scottish education minister. Folks can preempt all they wish but each region will have different measures in place. Things will become clearer soon enough.

Our council sent out a letter to all parents / carers today. They're working with Education Secretary, SQA and Ed Scot to work out what can be done specifically for exam students, those who qualify for free school meals and kids of key workers.

From that, my view is government will set policy and each council will work out the details. So, for example in my town with 3 primary schools, one might stay 'open' to cover.
