Coronavirus- working from home

I may be asked shortly to work from home instead of going to the call centre where I work - I’m imagining being on my laptop and headset speaking to customers on the phone and then the meet I arranged pops in and sucks me off as I take calls - has anyone had an experience like that ?

Working from home? Yes.

The other part? Nope.

Working from home isn't all it's cracked up to be, but if needs must to prevent any extra contamination in the work-place then it has to happen.

I have type 2 diabetes so I think my bosses will until the last minute to do anything cause it means they will need to spend money on laptops and they hate spending money since their share price sank by about 20%

Mr Pf hates working from home. He gets very little work done, ends up on here or other forums online.

It’s impossible for Mrs Pf to work from home. She’ll end up home though and not earning

I can work from home whenever I like, I prefer not to though. Less productive and not able to bounce things off people as easily.

Looks like it is going to be forced on us very soon though.

Diabetic here too, and it was that combined with the fact that I use public transport that my employers classed me as a high risk and so to work from home for the foreseeable.

"has anyone had an experience like that ? "

I had a lunchtime meet with someone who did online customer services for a big supermarket from home. So I guess you never know what the people you’re talking to have just been up to

Spare a thought for those of us who drive lorries for a living. We can’t work from home and if half of us went sick the country would have major problems. The only good thing is we don’t mingle with too many people I guess. Just have to keep taking precautions and keep lorries clean.

I love working from home. I've cut back on home visits for now, although always makes exceptions for the exceptional

I work from home occasionally as I’m self employed. Has it’s pros and cons, easy to get distracted with home comforts around. I sometimes think being in an office makes you more focused x

I work in 2 different jobs. One is part time in events (most are in lockdown)

the other full time in a retail complex

How the hell do I work from home for that

The shire

It's not an option for me. The very nature of my work means it's impossible to work from home.

Work from home regularly and planning to do more over next few weeks

Have several meetings every week so will be using conference call facilities more.

Will have some out of office meets only if recipient happy to I personally don't have any issues with it.

I used to coordinate my home working days with a friend. We had lots of fun. I made conference calls much more interesting. It amused me to make him struggle to concentrate!

I can’t work from home, no idea how that will pan out as things get more intense. How original to make it into a sex question though

I’ve worked from home for years. Worst bit is when Honey has an afternoon girlie meet and you have to ignore any noises from upstairs, almost impossible to work! Best bit is if you’ve time for a break and get to join in, or they need a photographer for a few minutes

Live in Scotland Play in England

There won't be much opportunity for spicing things up during work hours with kids off school too!

Having said this I do genuinely appreciate being able to work from home during all this... and really feel for those who won't be able to keep earning (my hubby is in this boat as he's a self employed tradesman but one out of two incomes is not something to complain about)
