So rolling on from last week's news and then the latest reports the guy seen out with the pup was a convicted sex offender, do you feel that these kind of incidents are what promotes indiference about the kink lifestyle and in turn any alternative lifestyle? Last week I was fully supportive of the couple now after finding out this new information suddenly I'm stuck between accepting people's lifestyle choices and my mothering instinct to say no this is wrong?

Does it also highlight the vulnerability of so many younger people now dabbling in the lifestyles, so you think an 18year old has enough life experiences and enough common sense as say a 30 year old to make these life adapting choices?

Is there too many young individuals exposed to a dangerous and perhaps abusive lifestyle?

Debate/comment but please keep It respectful

I think abusive relationships can exist in the "vanilla" world, swingers or among those into the really kinky shit.

It's about the individual rather than what they're into sexually.

Oh I totally agree, seen lot sof examples of abusive relationships, but doesn't quite get sensationalised or make the news in the same way unless of course there is a fatality or horrific injuries, or you're famous and then it's free reign for the media. I defo don't think today's headlines are going to do the scene any favours though

But....I think there is more pressure on younger folk today (thanks to porn) to be kinkier, dirtier or just different.

For example, anal sex is seen as the norm now among the younger generation or at least is expected by a lot of younger guys...it was seen as extremely kinky when I was younger.

I’d be concerned about the what seems to be an already controlling relationship between the sex offender and the ‘pup’.

Young people and those new to the scene are vulnerable and can be easily influenced by someone who then becomes abusive and a bully. The fet/kink side doesn’t need bad press to feed people’s already negative and biased thoughts and views. Although swinging is still thought of as worse than fetishes and kinks. Torture Garden for example can openly hold events but a swinging event on that scale would never be accepted and you’d have difficulty in even getting a venue.

Double standards as always.

I agree with Doggy and Falcon. There is a huge amount of pressure on young people in regard to having sex and kinkier sex too, however sexual "bullies" can be experienced at any age. Should this happen there usually needs to be a certain amount of confidence and life experience to resist something that you don't want to do but might feel you should due to emotional pressure from a partner or even peer pressure. It's that lack of experience that worries me for younger people. I think it's true that when you are young (say 18) you think you know exactly what you want but even ten years later that has changed, sometimes rather dramatically.

I have evolved (or devolved) over the years. If my 18 year old self was faced with everything I’m into now, I think he would have managed but “managed” is hardly an altogether positive.

With my experiences and how certain things developed over time, I’m proud to say I thrive. Even if I still wish I had the recovery time of my 18 year old self!

The 18 year old me was into the same sexual kinks as the 58 yr old me, only difference was at 18 I got up to these “kinks” in a regular fashion whereas they only happen a couple of times a year now

But I do agree with the onset of the internet and free porn sites, younger kids are being pressured into all sorts of activity they don’t understand.

As stated anal, was only for gay men back in my day. In fact I know quite a few folk in my vanilla peer circle who don’t do oral as it’s a dirty word.
