Was CJS too busy tonight

We appreciate that is a premium night at CJs. However tonight was really busy and it had a negative effect in our visit.

As we have had loads if night at CJs we can accept this however first timers may be put off. Going forward should Caroline make an effort to manage the amount if people attending? We can appreciate that she needs the maximum amount of people in but maybe she she look at the bigger picture

For the record we booked in late January xx

Our first time attending and no, we didn’t think it was too busy. Most of the rooms were empty, at no point we saw were they all full. I did think there was a lot not playing tonight, and not many making an effort outside of their social cliches to socialise but as a newb to CJs I though it was a great choice to have gone.

Hope to go again.

I don't think it was too busy at all. I've been multiple times, and despite tonight being the busiest I've seen it it ended up being one of the best nights I've had, I don't think there's any need to manage the number of people attending any more than there currently is.

I don’t think it was too busy as a club and for the majority. For us personally it was, but it’s whatever floats yer boat...

We love it when it's busy. unfortunately for us we both had the cold and were not able to attend.

If you don't like the busy nights just go on regular nights, we will always try to attend the busy one's

Love it when it'd busy and there was plenty of rooms to play in any time I went upstairs both open and private.

As someone stated above maybe stick to quieter nights if your not keen on the hussle n bussle on the themed nights x

I had a great time tonight, love it when its busy

I would say Halloween was busier think it may depend what you are looking for, I go for the social aspect and chatted to lots of wonderful people

I dont think she needs to do anything other than she has done so far about limits as it was fully booked tonight and we still got a seat on the sofa went a wander upstairs and some of the rooms were empty

This think when its reslly busy and its your first time it can feel like everyone knows somone. There are a lot of regulars who try to say hi to the newbies. Sorry it wasnt a great expeience for you, but dont give up on CJs

Yes it was busy. Too busy? No not at all.

If everyone who went were upstairs then it might have been a different story but there was always a free room, or one to share

Halloween was definitely busier than last night.

I saw alot of people socializing and enjoying themselves. Last night was a good amount of people in cjs i think. There were alot of newbies last night who all seemed to be having a good time.

Some seem to forget the socializing side of things is a big part of cjs as much as the play.

Really enjoyed cjs

I wouldn't say last night was too busy! I know they sold out ticket wise but I don't think they were at max capacity at all last night.

It was good because there was lots of people to talk to, and the social area was always busy. I went upstairs a few times, most of the night there was space, apart from when we got to the 12:30-1am mark where the only free room was the dungeon.

I normally don't like nights that have lots of couples because I find it hard to chat with a couple, I get what you were saying about everyone being paired off, that's unfortunately what kind of happens every night. Ive fallen into the "chat to the people that approach me" group which I think is roughly the same for a lot of people there. But last night way great.

I got a couple of chances to play, my request is always for more nice single guys

Defo think Halloween was busier and agree the social side is important for us love to chat and mingle but time can run away if you make a connection and you just don't get to chat to everybody that catches your eye.

When ever we took a wee peak upstairs rooms didnt seem that busy plenty opportunity for people to play.

Busy night last night but there's been way busier nights, lots of busy nights where there's been a strange atmosphere and even as a regular I've retreated to a corner but last night considering the amount of newbies I thought the dynamics were really good and everyone was very much making an effort to chat to so many different people, lots of single guys last night that went out their way to chat together and mix with couples and single females alike so much so the didn't stand out like they often do. It was also very apparent last night the majority were all very much up for socialising alot more than playing, again which was very different from normal busy nights. Maybe everyone had more than enough fun for actual valentines day that playing was an after though lol

I know last night was fully booked but I think a lot of people didn't come due to the weather etc. I think hogmanay was a lot busier as you could barely move without squeezing past people downstairs. The rooms were also constantly full after midnight.

We waited for a private room at one point last night but there were other rooms available pretty much all night. I love the really busy nights as it gives me a chance to meet new people and catch up with friends. Plus the atmosphere was really good last night (I thought) and so there was a real party buzz. Equally some of the quieter nights have been great fun if the right mix of people are there.

Sorry to hear that it had a negative impact on your night. Not sure if you mean that you were unable to get a room or didn't like having so many people around. As other people have said, the quieter nights suit some people better. It's all just personal preference

H xx

It was our 2nd time there and we had a great time I wouldn't have said it to too busy. 1st time we went we went on a couple and single female night that was good as it wasn't too busy. But I thought last night would have been even busier. X

It was busy downstairs and I chatted to new people as well as friends. Even managed to have some fun upstairs.

Only issue for me and I know some others were how one or two of the guys were dressed as they seemed too casual.

Didn’t leave CJs until very late. So late that the hotel we were in were setting up for breakfast lol.

Ditto what Falcon says above. A lot of people go to a bit of effort to dress up for the night. Clubs like these are not a regular pub, it’s a special place where you can let your hair down, and I think there should be a minimum standard that is acceptable.

On Saturday night a few fell below what I would even consider acceptable- and I’ve got low standards!

Make an effort, you won’t even get a sympathy blow job from me!

I think that there are always those who dress more casually than the majority; they just tend to be more obvious on theme nights.

We chatted to lots of folk who didn’t have red but had still made the effort. Apart from being asked if I had come as “The Joker” my scarlet jacket attracted a lot of attention

We didn’t think it was too busy at all. The night just went by so quickly though - it was 3am before we knew it.

It was our first time back in about 18 months, so it was nice to catch up with old friends. Although we didn’t get to catch to as many new folk as we would have liked, it was still was one of the best nights we’ve had.

Totally agree with a lot of points in this thread, Was busy but seemed to be a lot socialising as opposed to playing, we managed a wee bit of fun but even cpls room was empty, dress attire will im sure be addressed caroline was aware. only other thing we weren't keen on was group of about 6 folk who just kept going into cpls room and standing there talking and joking, as opposed to playing, was actually pretty offputting, wasnt even in a voyuer kind of way if that makes sense, more like waiting for a bus

First I would like to thank everyone who attended and made it such a great night.

Yes it was busy but it always is on these themed nights and I do limit the numbers and was fully booked on Saturday night.

As for dress code, yes I was aware of this and have made some changes to the wording on the website and to emails being sent to advise that smart casual does not include joggers or track suit.

Hope to see you all again soon. Cj xx

I have only been once. That was last year, summer time I am sure, again there was no playing tbh it was more people dancing and chatting and hardly any single people.

Just to clarify that there was a large valentines social before cjs of at least 60 people and alot being newbies, so people should understand on first visit it is all about the socialising, taking everything in and chatting with like minded people to get the feel about the place. Cjs is a great place for both socialising and playing. It isnt just one or the other both are a very big part of the scene.

We are very lucky to have a place like CJ's and Caroline and her team are amazing and do such a great job in making everyone feel welcome.

Saturday was a great night, one of the best nights i have been too.

We thought it was almost ideal, probably because the weather stopped some from turning up and it being too busy. There was a good buzz, friends to catch up with, and we were able to make new friends

Often on busier nights it’s difficult to find room to mingle or a room to play in, but it wasn’t a problem that night. There were couples we wanted to speak to and didn’t find the chance, but that’s par for the course when it’s busy.

The nights the weekend after a themed night can often be too quiet, so OP might be more comfortable with one a few weeks after a themed night?
