who knew that shredding years of old bank statements and documents could be soooo therapeutic

been putting all old docs aside for years as I didn't have a shredder, now I have one and im going through the lot

just so nice to watch an old document slide through the cutters and disappear off my desk

Why didn't you just tear them up?

nah always felt nervous about just tearing up and binning as you can still see all the details in them

worked in data for years and always had it drummed into my skull about proper disposal etc so I have a big pile of old bank stakements and old insurance docs and im going through them all and shredding them up

then its either the skip or if it ever dries up firepit for it all (who doesn't like a nice campfire lol)

I have a little incinerator out the back, and when papers build up I go out and have a fire. Very satisfying too.

You know they don't go through the rubbish these days. They just get all your details from the internet x

My old mum straps her letters and statements in water and then lets them dry and they are all stick together. Genius

I must admit I'm a shredder, but what your mum does is genius I agree...

Why did I not think of that

Somewhere over there

I’m currently in the process of leaving my work (my choice and taking the redundancy money & running!) and as someone who’s done information provision for the last 10 years, have a LOT to shred!

But very satisfying

Millie x
