Going on the ‘pull’

It’s came to my attention that I’ve actually never been pulled on a night out, is this still a thing or is it all down to online now, every person I’ve been with has either been a pal setting us up or chatted online (whether it be Facebook or bebo n that back in the day lol)

Maybe I’m just too awkward or an actual dog lol

I've both pulled and been pulled over the years. I used to enjoy the challenge (still do), and even failing was fun and a learning experience. Online is no substitute for that tactile, and pleasantly awkward, test of confidence - I'll never win awards for most handsome, but I excel at face to face and often found a match when my attractive friends didn't.

A successful real-world pull is a major boost compared to the Fab/dating site meat markets where people talk the talk

It's very easy to be confident behind a screen. Not so much outside in the world with actual people.

I find it weird (to use your expression) both you and Sinderella have not experienced as outlandish said a “face to face” spark (apologies if I’ve misunderstood ladies), you both look and sound like amazing ladies. I’m very average but happy to say I’ve had above average experience of “the spark” (I may write a book one day )

Back in the days before internet/social media almost everyone met face to face on a night out or whatever. If I were single I would still meet that way. Times have evolved and it’s more the norm to meet on-line I guess.

The girls I've pulled have just turned out to be easy targets when they're d*unk But nowadays, women are much more standoff-ish. So i don't bother too much.

I find it much more natural for situations to create a spark... (Eg. Ending up chatting and exchanging numbers with a girl on the make up counter in John Lewis when accompanying a friend shopping..)..

I've been on several blind dates though. Makes for good experiences

I'm a year younger than you and have been on the "pull" and been "pulled" in clubs when in my late teens / early twenties. I used tinder etc too, but it still happens in real life. Think it just depends on the type of circles you run in and how much you go out in clubs etc.

Can't say it ever resulted in many dates / relationships but then again, neither do apps (normally). They are all just different ways to meet people, casually or otherwise.

I think swinging clubs often feel like you're on the pull. People walk up to each other and chat with the aim of getting into bed.. just with more than the two of you

Spent many years in nightclubs and pubs "pulling". Last went out out about five years ago and did indeed manage to pull that night... . But yes it is far easier these days to tinder and POF etc... Although in old enough to be most of the girls dad!

I much prefer meeting people and chatting in the real world as opposed to online, fab, pof, tinder, which ever app you use. Chatting a girl up, or being chatted up in person is much more exciting, and if I'm honest. Much easier.. but that's because I'm a handsome fucker, And funny as fuck too.. It's very hard to put accross that little dimple you have when you smile. your funny laugh. Your sexy voice, The cheeky glint in your eye or your sarcastic sence of humour when you're typing on a phone. All the things that make you different is what what makes you unique. And typing on a phone screen, Everyone is just the same. All just reading words off a screen and not hearing how those words were put across.

Pulling on a night out seems to be a dying art haha. Used to happen but not so much these days but that's probably cos I'm getting older . The 30s above are shafted these days, but not the way they're expecting lol

I pulled in Dundee last year on a night out, I had never pulled before out and about... To my amazement I had the option of 2 lol must be the Dundee air
