To smoke or not to smoke?......

Just looking for a little insight...

As a recent ex smoker I was wondering why there is only one category for smokers on your profile? I mean there are people who smoke so little that it's easy to cover any taste or scent with simple common sense (ie carrying perfume/aftershave with you and always chewing gum) even as a smoker in my lines of work I had to consider these... But surely that's a huge difference between a light/social smoker to a hardened chain smoker?

For instance Quirky could go a whole night of not smoking if she was being suitably distracted but as we are honest we have to put she is a smoker... Also still after a few drinks I am known to enjoy 1 or 2 smokes.. Does this constitute a smoker?

I guess my question is... If there was a segregation between light and heavy smokers would all you 'won't meet smokers' folks out there would you be more likely to base a decision on their looks/personality?

I'm a light smoker too ..... can go for days without a cigarette ....... but even if I puffed forty a day there are those who will say, no smokers but for you I'll make an exception.

Lots of non-smokers say this to smokers.

I smoke occasionally - but even if I have one cheeky fag, Cookies can tell later that day; and he doesn't have a good sense of smell!!! He can taste the nicotine from my skin and various body parts.

Quirky just brought my attention to the segregation in the drinking category... Surely it would be easy to add this option to the smokers? Just feel sometimes the title smoker conjures images of nicotine stained fingers and teeth?

we smoke on and off.....if going on a meet them we don't smoke....cos we love oursrlves that much,, we wanna smell as good as we look....lol well smell nice n clean anyways....lol

Just seems a little closed off... We wouldn't meet people who smoke 100 a day but not gonna be put off by the odd smoke break

See thats where its misleading, it doesnt say anywhere on profile that you enjoy a wee occasional fag. If someone who wont meets smokers were to meet you, they would be able to tell, so it wouldnt be fair on them.

Only attend socials in venues where smokers have to go outside in the rain lol!

We only smoke when we're going too fast.....

Seriously though we're non smokers and very against smoking (even 1 etc) and wouldn't meet smokers because of that.

Its nothing to do with personality, looks etc simply something we don't like.

have to say we both smoke however if meeting someong who dosnt smoke, we dont smoke before hand or during meet unless they dont mind lol what i dont understand is the non smokers that message us and we say sorry as you dont meet smokers wish sum would read profiles xxxx

We both non smokers and have "wont meet smokers" box ticked.....BUT you are totally right, we would and will meet considerate smokers..if that option was there..we wouldn't have missed out on the likes of Quirky and Mainedmates (whom we passed as they were standing outside have a fag!) lol!

Our decision to tick that box was based on a previous meet we had where both partners smoked and smoked heavily. The F smoked less and used chewing gum..The M smoked roll ups and didn't. Pip was nearly boaking when kissing, and it really put us off smokers. So YES change the options, because at the moment all smokers are being "Tarred" (no pun intended) with the same brush!

As a smoker I have to respect other peoples views, we are all entitled to them at the end of the day....but I would like to say that smokers should not all be branded as lepers lol feck must empty the ashtray
