We went to the one at the quay after a night at the casino as we couldn’t get a taxi. Took one look at the room and decided we would rather walk home than stay in it.

There was a lot of teenagers running up and down the corridors all drinking and messing about. I suppose that’s what happens with cheap hotels

Used once and never again, basic in the extreme and didn’t stay in it. Pinups advice noted too though

It’s not that much more for a comfortable hotel if you look about, I’d never go back

You really don't need to. The Ibis in the city centre is a 'styles' brand of Ibis not budget like the Quay which IS a bit basic, but none the less suits many people's purpose and pocket.

Pics are available on the website which should reassure you. It's a shame your thread was hijacked as a trip advisor review.

Granted it's not Friday or Saturday, but Malmaison do a fantastic deal called The Sunday Stopover. Spend £75 in their restaurant, and get a room for £25. A little fun, food and frolics in nice surroundings.
