So harry n megan no longer have the HRH and will no longer receive public money.

I for 1 think this is a good thing and hopefully more will follow.

Outdated family traditions.

Queen fair enough as a tourist figurehead but that should be where the public funding should stop.

Scale it right back!

Anyone have any thoughts?

Well technically they are lol but old liz is a good tourist trap.its tradition brings in all the Americans lol but let her live in 1 palace rather than 3 or 4.

If it wasnt for The Crown on netflix..I would know nothing about the royals. (Although I will admit that I have to constantly google things I see in the crown to make sure its true)

Suspect the series which covers 2019/20 will be a peach.

I don’t think we should ever get rid of the entire royal family, but they definitely need scaled back in terms of numbers and properties.

I'm not really a royalist, but I really admire Harry, especially since he's had to endure the speculation about his parentage.

I think the Dutch royals are pretty low key and cycle about doing their own thing. Just in the UK they're somehow entitled to respect by an accident of birth.

They're kind of snookered either way though,eh? Heard Piers Morgan having a go about Harry trying to get Megan a job doing voice overs for Disney. People either want them to work or not. And it's not as though she's gonnae be able to get a wee night shift at the Shell garage so not entirely sure what his point was.

I think she wanted the lifestyle but didnt like the confines of royalty.aa in she likes the status but not being able to do/go as she please.

She was used to a bit of fame but not the intrusion where she was always gonna get here.

The Dutch royals are actually pretty cool. They've agreed some public events every year in exchange for the press to leave them be the rest of the time. Princesses cycle to school without security guards that apparently they can't do without here. The amount of bad publicity Maxima's had to deal with was a whole lot worse than Meghan, but she just left them to it and everyone now seems to respect her as much as her husband. Never thought I'd say this, but I am a bit of a fan of the Dutch royals
