Really puts me off if someone has messaged, you open the email read it then pop offline to go do something then come back online to a message along the lines of Oh I take it you aint interested or I saw you oline but uve not replied to my message.... hello you are not the only person messaging lol

Are you someone who expects an instant reply or are you pretty chilled out about it ?

Totally chilled.

People are busy or may want to take time to think about a response. Taking a huff over a delay (or being totally ignored for that matter) is the senders problem. Not yours.

(If you don’t respond to this post within 10 mins though will result in a huff of mega proportions and I’ll be filling the swear tin accordingly).

I sometimes come on to chat in the forums so don’t reply to messages as it takes time.

On another site I started chatting someone, only a couple of message exchanged but I was busy at home so when I went back online 30 minutes later he had sent a message 4 minutes after his last message saying not chatting now?? All cause I took longer than 4 minutes to reply!!

Me personally answer a message when I see it.then go offline.

Unless it's a message I'm not going to answer at all.

Happens all the time. I'm on POF and some people seem to think that I spend my life with my face in my phone waiting to reply to their message.

Not the first time someone has gone in the huff and blocked me because they didn't get an instant reply.

3 minutes? I’m impressed.

Now, where am I going to vent this pent up aggression?

A misconception that direct messages are for chat. They’re like email. Similarly forum posts are not really chat either but more suited.

Wonder why they added “chat” rooms?

I answer messages as soon as possible. I figure we make tome for the things we want to do, if someone isn't making time to answer my message then no point in countless messages begging for time.

I'm very chill about it because I do it all the time, I will leave a message without a reply forever because I don't get notifications to I totally forget to do it. If it worked like an app then it would be all good, but the old layout makes it hard to remember to reply

It shocked me recently when I was on the receiving end of this from a woman and she wrote me a barrage of message about how rude I was for not replying to her message quickly...

I am quite chilled in responses..but occasionally when there's been a conversation and then she stops replying, is that a sign she's not interested, or am i just buried among her busy mailbox.

I just think that if a woman is interested in chatting to me, she should make an effort too!

I can sometimes be good at answering back if I'm on and message pops in, I'll reply. If I'm busy doing normal family things I won't be able to reply as quick as I will be unaware there's messages. Family life first always. So if people don't want to wait that's up to them but I've not really had anyone who's that impatient, suppose alot in same boat and I don't take offence if I don't get a reply straight back.

It happens to us regularly, and is a major bugbear.

We like to consult each other and give a considered response to messages if it's someone that we are interested in. Some just don't have the patience to wait more than 10 mins for a reply.

I think if you've read a message but don't respond until hours or days later it's a bit game playing.

I'm pretty relaxed about replies, people will get back when they want to or when they can.

Though I definitely get messages demanding a response if I don't reply or get back to people instantly, those people get deleted

Chilled. However it gets awkward when it's someone who you have decided /mutually decided that things will go no further, but they still continue to message. Now I understand why some profiles have "no pen pals".

What if it doesn't really warrant or need a reply though? Some times conversations just fizzle out, happens in real life too.

That's fair enough. I'm more referring to those who don't reply because they've been too busy

It’s annoying and usually just block.

I’ve opened messages, then the phones gone or I’ve got distracted by something in the real world and I’ve not replied and then come back maybe hours later or next day and I’ve not replied, and I’ve had a huffy response!! As someone else said it’s a good filter.

As a rule we just block people that do it, Fab is low on our list of priorities if we spent all day replying to messages we'd get nothing else done. x

Totally puts me off, I check my mail at various times of day and usually reply at night. It's easy to out the needy guys though when they send multiple messages throwing the toys out the pram , there are probably some girls that do it too, let's not be biased

We are very chill about waiting on a response. There could be several reasons why it takes a while to respond, so no biggy if there's a wait. Quite often one of us will read a message but wait on the other to discuss and given that we often work opposite shifts, sometimes that can take a while!

That's true. Now I like to talk sometimes too much but sometimes if the chat is not doing it for us. I'm like fuck what do I say now or if there's no humour or good banter I do get bored if I'm honest.

We are the same here aswell, hubby works different shifts (days and nights) so when he's at work driving he can't check fab or messages and I tend to wait until he's home to read and catch up unless it's couples I've spoke to previously and we continuing a conversation but if new people, we in this together and we make decisions together.

Doesn’t bother me in the least. People have busy lives or, if a couple, may want to confer. Similarly, if my message is just binned or not replied to at all. That’s the recipient’s right and I just move on. Just because someone receives a mail doesn’t put them under any obligation to do anything about it.

As for someone mailing me, I respond fairly quickly when a message floods in.

If I have sent a message that then gets read and no reply I just don’t bother mailing again even if it was just fpf.

But when I was mailing ladies i didn’t expect a reply as I know ladies get a lot of messages daily so I toke it as there busy or I’m not there type so left them alone

We get a lot fo mail, especially since that post about dogging took off..

Tend to read it en-masse so it clears the notify number, then try and respond to teh interesting ones that aren't just "hey babe want fuck?"...

But even then, you read something then an hour later "Oh, take it you're not interested then? Would have been nice of you to have the manners to reply"..

Like, sure, I'll take the 2+ hours it would take to instantly reply to all messages as I read them and the inevitable 14 follow-ups from thirsty guys who just want a blowjob...

Never mind the kids, or work or family stuff or keeping a house or doing anything for myself, I'm just glued to here 24/7, a virtual single-guy wank-chat bot...

/sarcasm...

Absolutely, I might love a profile that he doesn't and vice versa. Or simply struggle to get shifts to match when others wish to meet etc. Not to mention that Fab isn't our top priority, we have lots going on.
