Glasgow

I was in Glasgow city centre yesterday. I walked up Buchanan Street to St Vincent Place when I noticed a for sale sign on the old public toilets there.

These haven't been used in decades and are underground so am not sure what the development opportunities are or who is likely to buy such a property.

Barrow in Furness

Grand designs had one where a woman bought one in London and converted to a dwelling.

It was stunning inside.

I've known several people to try purchasing that unit, looked ages ago myself but it's got a lot of drawbacks for certain opertunaties, amazing location though with lots of footfall but doesn't tick a lot of boxes for many

Just your bog standard building then

But could be converted to a underground hairdressers, bar, underground cosmetic surgery (dodgy I know), shoe shop. Plenty things it could be.

Just not a food place that would be bogging

Lacks a secondary fire escape route so rules out most of those options, tbh a kitchen is about the best for it once gutted out. The council is the main drawback for it as they'll put the hault on most applications

The old toilets In the park here have been converted into a house. A long time ago when power rangers were new. My friend pushed me out of a tree I landed in dog shit, then in what is now someone’s living room said friend frantically tried to wash dog shit out of my brand new power rangers t shirt, or I was telling his mum

Aberdeenshire

I went to a Victorian, underground public toilet in London that had been converted into a coffee shop. The urinals were set up as tables.

Some cracking buildings in and around the city centre, the council blames private owners for neglect. Yet all it takes is a fire and wham compulsory demolition….
