What's the point of a profile?

It seems to us that a great number of people don't bother to read the specifics of a profile; and then there's the ones who lie about their sexuality on their own profile. What really is the point in having a profile if people flick past it and display inaccurate information of their own?

I read every profile I perve at and if we’re not compatible then I don’t message. I may leave fabs but that’s all

I would have thought the priority would be to quickly establish trust and work out compatibility? That surely must be more difficult if on the one hand people don't read through another's profile, and on the other decieve with inaccurate information of their own.

We read all profiles that spark interest, those that wink, fab pics etc.. We check all out, if not to our liking we leave without a wink, if we like after reading profiles, reviews, checking out pics then take it from there.

You're exactly like us in that regard, although we don't bother too much about fabd photos. Maybe we should start doing that.

We read every word of a profile, if we are not compatible we block

We would hope that others do the same to us

But

Alas as you say, what is the point, you’ll be asked the same questions that you’ve answered in depth on the profile 30 times a day

A profile, I think, should give a bit of insight into the person behind it.

I read the profiles of everyone who messages me & those of people who I find interesting or intriguing on the forums.

If I’m interested in someone I want to read a decent profile. Not a long drawn out boring piece which I can’t be arsed finishing but not a two line wonder either.

As a couple that's new to this our profile has to be lengthy because we need to be clear about what we want and what we both can offer for now. I think the more experienced we get the more tailored our profile will become. If the people look hot, and we're definitely interested, then we'll read it from start to finish; and we'll make it clear to them we have.

As a couple who have been on the site for 12 years or so we are not going to read war and peace and comply with a list of dos and don’ts. If we are interested in a profile we will message if not we pass by, it’s as simple as that.

Some people are direct and to the point with their language, others more long winded and wordy. So their profiles will be exactly the same.

I hate the ones that describe themselves though...

"We're an attractive, sexy couple...." (can see the pics...beauty is in the eye of the beholder and aw that....)

"We're fun loving with a great sense of humour..." (but you're crabbit as fuck on the forum? )
