Excuses used to escape....

... what excuses do most people use with family/friends to escape for fun? I'm sure it can't be easy for some to get regular babysitters etc for going to clubs

We've had friends ask us where we always go or they ask us for dinner/drinks when we've got plans to goto the club but we just tell them we've got a work thing on in the morning so need to escape for a early sleep

What excuse do you regularly use?

John

I've never done that. I have a higher regard for my friends and family than anyone I've ever had fun with

So you just tell them you've got fun planned? Think you are missing the whole point to my question

The same Tracey? She gets around a bit.

I’m either partying with old uni or school friends or taking part in an organised tournament.

Have you got Tracey’s or Aud’s contact details as a backup plan?

It was always family functions we attended prior to swinging life but we have a social life outwith family, it's a million questions from my mum, oldest kids and family.

We started off by saying new friends we met when we went out in Glasgow one weekend in the summer (not a lie) and so far we have been invited to 4 birthday bashes, 1 halloween party and soon a hogmanay party at a friend's houses (cjs) hahaha. Have to keep it real lol Family all know we go out Once a month for date night but no specific date so we babysit our grand kids in return my older son and daughter babysit my 2 youngest 14 and 6.

The questions come due to lack of party pics, as I always used to post pics of parties now nothing lol

Somewhere over there

I used to go solo to cjs, but used excuse of Meet-up (app) which lets you join in social things such a dinners/quiz nights/board games/knitting etc hobbies with other solo people.

My mum used to ask me SO many questions; where you going? Do you want dropped off? Etc. How did you meet Ian?

I take photos pre party and don’t tag location.

No regular excuse used but grateful for ideas. We go off for weekends and when I go back work on Monday my colleagues say 'you up to much at the weekend', I'm like 'not really, quiet one' with images of hot, sweaty bodies writhing about in my head.

Or if we do say we're going away, we have the same issue with photos. Or not telling people we are in their city in case they ask why we didn't call to arrange something with them.

Sometimes I wish I had that problem but since I went back to nightshift it's kinda killed my social life over the years...if I say I'm in my bed I probably am but not in a fun way with someone lol, and nobody thinks twice.

Aviemore and regularly visit Glasgow

We usually tell folks we are just headed off to a friends for drinks/dinner/night out etc. Most of our friends know now so no need to lie to them, but need an excuse for chief dog sitter my mum.

My work colleagues did think it was a bit odd that I did a pole performance at your birthday party though K, and I got some extra funny looks when I told them the birthday girls had a lap dance too!

For socials it is usually the cinema, often some obscure film at the Glasgow Film Theatre so that nobody can quiz us on it.
