Just throwing it out there: I like to travel and see the world.

Often it's cheaper to fly to Europe than get a national train!

Would anyone be up for being a travel buddy? And no, I'm not looking for a sex-filled weekend

In particular, maybe visit German Christmas markets??

How come you don't go with real life friends?

"How come you don't go with real life friends?"

Can't sync schedules, other commitments, but mostly down to the fact that people just aren't as adventurous as I am, or hate traveling so I choose to travel on my own.....

I think a lot of women might view your offer with suspicion

In fairness OP has a point. I so often want to take off but then get hit with the 'single person' tax on hotels. So a travel buddy isn't a bad idea. Especially if of a similar mindset.

But yes, if you were specifically looking for your profiles 'compatible' partner orientation this could easily be construed as a means to an end. Then it's up to parties to make intentions clear early on.

I'm not saying the OP's offer isn't genuine but it does also sound too good to be true. Just like time about a year ago now that I got an offer of a free holiday, all expenses (flight, meals and hotel!) paid trip to Germany by an Irish guy on here. Sounds lovely but very suspicious to me x

Would the offer have been less suspicious if it had been a woman asking?!

Single people look for buddies to go and travel, it is not a big deal, ads all over popular sites for it, not everyone likes travelling alone or feel safe doing so.

If someone is interested surely they will be intelligent enough to meet the OP before agreeing anything, clarify a few points and make their own mind up and see if it is a genuine offer or not.

Good luck OP. Enjoy your trip

OP has not offered to pay he has merely requested a companion to travel with. I think its a good idea as us singles get charged a fortune when travelling alone.

Maybe so but i think its a great idea and would not mind a travel buddy myself. What puts me off is having to explain to family why i am going away with a strange man.

I just wouldn't tell my family. Then again I'd rather go away with a friend outside of this place x

Me too but they are married and have families. Im quite happy to travel alone but admit it can get lonely at times. Im fine during the day but feel silly sitting myself in a bar at night so usually end up in my room by 9.

Last time I was by myself in a bar I went back to the hotel room and I just ordered room service and wine, put on the TV and had a great night. It was a night away from home and just thought I'd treat myself. I'd do it again too x

It may sound suspicious, but so be it.

And I'm not offering to pay, lol. I'm dutch

I'm not even insisting on sharing a hotel room.

It was just an idea I was putting out...

.

I'm flying away this weekend with someone I met recently on my travels. It'll be the second time seeing her, but she shares my sense of adventure, so it got me thinking. That's all it's just nice to not travel alone sometimes, but also have a sense of safety in foreign lands.

Exactly. So many places i want to explore but as a single female would not feel safe. Plus i always stay in hotels as feel safer than in apartment but they cost more.

I think on the whole your intent has come across as intended. So don’t fret. There is mileage in your suggestion due to the points raised.

I've done a mix of both and have had both good and bad experiences of both. Some places you are better to have a airbnb/aparthotel rather than hotel.

.

After visiting Bulgaria & Hungary, I'm not sure I want to be in Eastern Europe again on my own. I do want to complete my mission to visit every European country though!

He’s not looking to pay for anybody, just looking for company and a way to keep the prices down. A free holiday etc to me sounds like being an escort - just sayin
