Mental health is a bit crap at the moment so I think I will have to go back on medication. Used to be on setraline but I couldn't finish the job for love nor money, whether it be by my own hand or if I was with someone. Basically if I get back on setraline I will have no sex life. Have any of you blokes been on an antidepressant that does not have this effect?

I’m any medical case I would advise speaking to your doctor about negative side effects from your prescription, most likely you will be able to find an alternative but remember every ones body is different and not everyone reacts the same

It can effect both genders ability to orgasm. It’ll be on the side effects and on the list that comes with the medication.

Speak to your doc, I’m sure there will be an alternative.

Mine don't affect my ability to finish the job but they do sometimes take away any interest in sex.

Speak to u our doctor about Wellbutrin , the brand name of bupropion, it has the lowest overall rate of sexual dysfunction, reduced libido, delayed ejaculation, erectile dysfunction and an inability or delayed ability to reach orgasm.

I have few male friends who have been on beta blockers, sertraline, fluoxetine and have had same issues, one of my friends who was on sertraline changed his diet and noticed improvements however his problem then became he could go for hours but no satisfaction by orgasm, (we called him blue balls) until he spoke to his doctor and asked about an anti depressant that would be less likely to effect his sex and now back to being a man whore lol

Other pal just wasn't interested in sex at all which definitely wasn't like him but he's stubborn and not had sex in 3 years. His choice.

My other friend is a blue pill addict (viagra) , he takes along with his anti depressants, it takes him a while to cum but he's happy with that.

So speaking to your doctor would be advisable but I'd advise do some research on anti depressants to find one least likely to have an effect and ask questions about your findings.

I've been to the darkest place with depression and totally understand how it can effect you mate, I was on setraline too but started on metasapine, boosts appetite and helps you sleep but also makes your sex drive stronger, I hope you get there bud, it's a long hard road but the best thing is to talk and don't be afraid to accept help,

Will suggest wellbrutin to the doc. Even though I don't actually have too bad a life and I'd wager there's hundreds of fabbers have got worse problems than me something just isn't right up top

It's an imbalance in brain chemicals in many cases, nothing to do with how great or shit life is - was reading just today how Tyson Fury felt suicidal just after becoming a World Champion whilst driving a Ferrari!

Speak to your doc, you'll find an alternative that works. I've had similar issues with Citalopram in the past.

Take care!
