"a beautiful person, especially on here Is beauty defined what you physically see though or is beauty more than what you can see? It's not really a word I use to describe any aspect of someone " That's because it would mean being (sycophantically) complimentary

"It's not really a word I use to describe any aspect of someone " Okay so if beauty is not a word you would use to describe an aspect of someone would it be more a trait? So what attracts you to someone if not looks? As an initial meet would really need to be based on sight for an attraction surely?

"Beauty, one definition... a combination of qualities, such as shape, color, or form, that pleases the aesthetic senses, especially the sight. A combination of qualities some physical some not so much, to each of us that will be different though some will be the same. Human beings see beauty in many ways both within and without. Ergo yes beauty is in the eye of the beholder as we all value similar yet different things. Similar things might be honesty, physical symmetry, humour, integrity etc. Some things not so much, what one person views as assertiveness another may view as aggression - as to whether one can find it here... Yes I have no doubt of it " I don't disagree with your statement but you are seeing or interacting to determine beauty. Can you feel beauty without interaction or does it need to be physical by sight, sound, smell or touch?

"Im really confused here Sorry what is confusing?" I gave an answer, you can't deem something ot someone as beautiful without interacting with it in some way. Do you think it's possible?
Reply privately | Reply in forum | Reply +quote |
"Do you think it's possible? " I think that sight has got to be the first thing that provides attraction or deam beauty, then smell, sound and possibly taste. Beauty can't be deemed without interaction of some sort. However I myself think sight could be decieving compared to interacting in other ways. Therefore I feel that in life sight can hinder alot of our choices in life. However, I would hate not being able to see as some things need to be seen to appreciate true beauty as in the setting of the sun, the different colours of leaves on the trees in Autumn etc. However, we as humans judge people by sight and not by inner beauty and in this case we would be better being blind to appreciate the true beauty of people!

"in terms of its opposite. Hot/cold love/hate dark/light do let me know what conclusion you come to " With the examples you have given above these are clearly defined opposites. However beauty dependandant on what is being defined doesnt have one specific clear opposite as in a person it could unattractive, or when describing an object it could be plain or unsightly. The opposite of beauty therefore cannot be just simply defined as ugly.
