I have done several 10k. Fastest time 54mins. Half marathon would kill me though. I just run for pleasure now

Would love to have done this but recurring knee prob prevents

Used to average 85-90 mins for that distance.....in the good old days of the Cold War

I was aiming for 60 mins or better...but as I said the knee wasnt playing ball.

Totally taking up the half marathon challenge next year as the training will help me lose weight along with improve my running time.

I think 5k would be the furthest I would attempt. If I'm going for any more than 30 mins I get bored.

For me its the route and the view you get. I love the great Scottish run route....especially running over the Kingston bridge.

But I get what you mean-the Glasgow green 10k is boring. Running around the park is not fun.

Glasgow half my last of year.

Maybe squeeze a 10km in before Xmas but my running year is winding down.

Gutted I had plans this weekend as I’d liked to have done Scottish half but I was conquering my first Munro

I’ll probably stick to the running but this particular Munro as on my bucket list so when the opportunity arose I couldn’t say no

Usually starts about 7.30ish. You start off on tarmac, run across the beach round the rock where you will have to go through the water for a little bit( it isn't deep) then back into the town where you finish up a short, steep hill. Then they give you beer and a banana. I think about 1200 did it this year
