Gone with the old savlon or TCP...

What would you use these days?

I was recently recommended tattoo goo and it seems to be pretty good!

Something mild to wash it, I normally use baby shampoo and bepanthen cream to help with the scabbing

The best product to use for tattoo aftercare is bepanthen.

It's nappy rash cream, heals tattoos quicker than anything else I've ever used.

Bepanthan worked well for me.

I got given something by the artist when I got mine done on holiday and was allergic to it!

I was given a and d ointment. It's concentrated so only need a thin layer.. Seems to be doing the trick though.. Washing it with simple soap

Frequently use Tattoo Goo and works great. Gets rid of itch, heals faster and smells nice. All tattoos I've used it on look brand new even though they are years old but I'm pretty obsessive with tattoo care.

I'm not a fan of bepanthen. It's very heavy. After one or nine tattoos, I'm sticking with tattoo goo for now!

I’m covered in tats, both sleeves, full back, lower legs sleeves, always use bepanthen and keep them wrapped in cling film for at least the first 3 days

It’s not recommended to use Bepanthen as they have changed the ingredients it. Palmers coconut oil is good

Tattooists seem to swear by bepanthen but Savlon in my opinion is just as, if not more effective

Tattooists will tell you not to use belanthen anymore as they changed the ingredients and it can strip colour out

Beat thing to use is cocoa butter

There's a really good tattoo place in Edinburgh that recommends Bach Rescue Cream, it comes in a yellow box, it's gentle on new tattoos and helps with any itching as it heals.

With my last tattoo the artist who used to swear by bepanthen told me NOT to use it anymore and not use cling film, as between both they have been known to cause bacterial build up and infection.

Instead use coconut oil with no cover up. Healed really quickly and almost no scabbing/crusting.

Nothing better than bepanthen and I wash it as usual.

Bepanthem is best as soaks in and doesn’t lose colour.

Bepanthen is best I used on my sleeve and other tattoos. I heard they changed formula and now pulls the colour from tattoos. So would research that

Another vote for Bepanthen, until it has healed over, then Palmer's Cocoa Butter on a daily basis.

Too many folk suggesting bepanthon still. Tattoo artists have been saying for years not to use it for healing. It draws out the coloured inks and leaves your tattoo looking faded. Any reputable artist will tell you the best thing to use. Heed their advice. They generally know what they're talking about.

It was a tattooist who recommended the bepanthen for me, I have a five year old coloured pheonix which has not faded and still looks bright.

This is what my tattooist has told me last few tattoos we've had from her, been using the cocoa butter on her recommendation for last few years

I have heard coco butter too and that's suppose to be really good for tattoos. Not got a new tattoo for a while but getting one in October and will ask his opinion.

It was my tattooist who said to use Bepanthen. He is extremely good, very well know, travels extensively to shows and gets invited to do guest spots all over the UK and Europe. I'll take his word over a random on a sex site, he is the professional after all.
