An old female friend of mine recently revealed that when she was 20 she went for an interview for an air hostess job and had to strip down to her knickers and go through a 10min medical consultation with a male Dr. Something far from right about this but back in the day it was not questioned. Thank God times have changed.

Just wondered if anyone else had similar experiences. I encountered a very randy porter when young and worked in a hospital. His behaviour was dreadful when i think back.

Work experience as a 14yr old in a mainly male office. Topless calendars and very inappropriate jokes. Fucking creeps made no effort to make me feel comfortable whatsoever.

I had 2 I'll say women but one was like a beach ball and the other had a face like a fuckin whippet. They used to constantly feel my arse.

I know some guys will be think lucky guy put trust me the both of them where rotten.

A bloke couldnt go to HR and no amount of fuck off would put them off...they thought it was funny.

Many moons ago I used to do private hire taxi driving in my home town. I was the only female on the fleet and one day I was called into the office and told I must wear a skirt for work!!! I handed over my badge and headed home. I was asked to go back the next day and was ‘allowed’ to wear trousers

Sadly these things still happen....former employer of mine interviewed and hired a 20 year old girl as the office receptionist.

There was no requirement for her ....she could not answer the phone and take down basic information. Would welcome clients by saying "what you want?" (no joke!)

She was kept in the job simply because see had big tits and wore low cut tops. Old perv employer would walk by her desk a few times a day and stop to ask pointless questions...

My ex was a teacher, and in first year of teacher training she had to have a medical examinaton similar to OP. She didn't seem to think much of it, but it sounded a bit suspect to me

I went for a job in a bar around 30 years ago wearing trousers. The woman who interviewed me told me I'd need to wear a skirt if I got the job because men like to see a bit of leg when they're out for a pint

I went for an interview when i left school.I had to take women to cinemas shopping holidays night outs drop them off pick them back up lunches restaurants ..you name it ..i had to do it..They called it Dating .

Times have changed generally thank god.

Equality wise some old habits have not gone, light bulb needs changed in office? It will be a guy grabbing a ladder and finding the bulb.

Paper delivery to the office,it will be the guys humping it upstairs to the office area.

New equipment delivery to office? Yip you get the idea, sit n look pretty n do nothing.

Like to think over the years we have deleted the pervs and nonsense but equality?

When I started my apprenticeship 25 years ago I had to pass a medical. Similarly it involved stripping to my boxers and being examined. Included having my balls cupped and being told to cough

I'd change a lightbulb or a fuse...will have a go at most things. But where a task involves more physical strenghth surely it's kind of obvious that a fit guy would do most of the heavy lifting?

I'd always have a go myself before I asked for help by the way!...and would lend a hand too.

We have women who work for us in a physical job, no exception are given just because they are women and shouldn't be. I've seen women get stuck in a few times with the guys giving it ...its too heavy routine

As a 15 year old I went for a wee job in the local newsagents - the owner, a large, red faced gentleman insisted I attend an 'interview' in his home, which went on quite a while. I remember feeling uncomfortable and looking back I was probably lucky to get out unscathed - I thank God for modern moves towards safe caring for children!!!

Worked in a graphic design studio when I was 18, we interviewed for a receptionist and she was told no smelly lunches etc, chips etc, she brought in boring sandwiches everyday religiously, me and boss won a contract and brought in a full Indian set meal for 2 for lunch stunk office out she went out for lunch and we never saw her again ??

Had it for the navy, not great having someone I didn’t randomly message cupping my balls. They are just looking for lumps though.

I did feel a lot better on another exam when the doctor was a gorgeous woman and not a Nosferatu look a like. We’re shallow and should talk before grabbing anything.

Back in the day these medical exams were common practice as the airline would want a certain physical ability, I knew someone that went for an interview with a major airline 20 years ago and had a similar experience but was also weighed 4 times throughout the day as they were strict on a persons weight
