Scotland's Six Nations

Well what started out as a promising year for Scotland in the Six Nations Tournament turned out to be the exact opposite

Really don't mind losing games if we have played well but the last two games against Ireland and now Italy have really been poor even by our standards. Our scrums and near perfect line out have even malfunctioned to a point that is unrecognisable from the start of the competition.

To sum up the tournament in a nutshell, Scotland gave away far too many soft penalties and some serious player errors lead to defeats and need to be looked at and addressed. I for one still support Andy Robinson and believe he is the man to take Scotland forward, he has limited resources to work with and there are some good young players coming through with the likes of Denton, Laidlaw, Jones and Hogg (very disappointment couple of games for him) and Visser eligible in the summer.

Sadly its these last two games in the tournament that will be remembered most, poor discipline and school boy errors have once again been Scotland's downfall and we contributed to our own defeat, two yellow cards and failure to capitalise on the opportunity when Italy were a man down. Hard to take but we must accept the Wooden Spoon.

Roll on the Autumn Tests in November at Murrayfield against New Zealand, South Africa and Tonga.
