Quite often i get first messages from men introducing themselves and asking what my name is. I feel bad but do not like giving out my name to men i have never chatted to before. Am i wrong to feel this way?

No not at all, you give out your name in your own time. You were actually very complimentary on the message i sent you a while back

I do answer alot of messages but feel that first names are not really necessary when conversing with people you dont intend meeting.

close enough

No one should feel the need to apologize for anything (within reason) on an anonymous internet site.

There are many on this site who would use personal stuff about you in a not so nice way so only give out what personal infirmation you want to as we all know this site is full of spiteful & nasty people

No you're not wrong in any way. I prefer not to give my name until I've been chatting for a while. It's your rules and you give or don't give your details as you see fit. X

I wouldn’t say so, many people on here have a fab name and their real name, just out of a desire for privacy. You’ve chosen to call yourself bluebell and that’s what I called you when I first messaged. In time, if you’ve met someone a few times, you might chose to share your real name. I don’t see any problem with that

I only give folk my real name once I’ve met them in person until then most folk will call me elle or violet actually quite a lot of fab friends still refer to me as both

I have a fairly unusual name, so definitely don't like giving it out unless I'm very interested.

No you are well within your rights to keep your real name to yourself. Everyone is a stranger on here and until you meet someone and you are comfortable with them, only then you should say what your real name is. I have never given my real name to anyone unless I've met them so don't feel bad about it honey x

"Quite often i get first messages from men introducing themselves and asking what my name is. I feel bad but do not like giving out my name to men i have never chatted to before. Am i wrong to feel this way?"

And when they ask do they say who they are?

By that I mean their name?

Their real name?

They start off by introducing themselves but yes you are right, it may be a false name.
