anyone been prescribed Champix ? and if so, how did/have you got on with it

(for those wondering- its an aid to stop smoking

My OH had it...it worked well and got him to stop smoking at the time...although his willpower left him nine months later.

But there are lots of people I know who have used it and stayed off the fags.

Iv used them..

They work, but i have the willpower of a smartie so went back to smoking...

No side effects for me and considering asking doc for them again

I aint heard of it. New to me.

I once tried those nicotine patches but found them dead hard to light. Didnt get a good draw off them either.

I was prescribed them Dec 07 sleep pattern was all to hell some weird dreams they got me off the fags in 5wks and i stopped the tabs after 5wks also. My stop date was 16th Dec 07 not had a fag since

Just be careful on it...dont smoke with them and can cause mood swings. But that said they do what they say on the tin! Good luck. Am still on them.

i was given these from doc as the patches didn't work,did have some funny dreams though,my stop date was 26th April 2006 and never smoked since, so they worked well for me.good luck hun xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Used them last year and was off the ciggies for 5 months but seeing as I'm weak am back on the again....for now.

Had no side effects for me.

One of the "selling points" of Champix is that you can still smoke while on them and if they do what they are meant to do, a point comes in the course of treatment, when you don't want to smoke anymore and hopefully stop for good.

I gave up smoking on champix five years ago you only can smoke up to the 14th day on them after starting them, you decide on a day for giving up before the 14th day after that when you go for your check ups at the chemist if they see you have anything in your system then they will take you off them.

Was the best thing i ever done and have never looked back go for it xxxxxx

we both took them, never helped me at all and thomas had awful dreams and made no difference. we start the electronic cigs on monday. bought a throw away one to try and did the job so now have the rechargeable.

just as our bodies are all different, i think this works for some and not for others. but good luck x
