Non PC jokes.

Are you a fan of them or is it a total no for you.

We all know the types that bear the brunt of them.

Blondes, the irish , famous recently deceased people, gays, racism etc etc etc .

Maybe your brave enough to post one here and now and take the backlash lol ?

So wheres everyones acceptance levels on this one. ?

I just don't find them particularly funny....not even a pc issue. I can laugh at pretty much anything if there is an element of humour or amusement in it.

the problem is why that language is being removed.

I know what i am and what i mean when i say something i care little about fucktards getting upset because i wont conform to their ideal way of being.

Pc culture to me is an attempt to make everyone conform to the madness of the loud few

Well some peoples words are, if the opposite sex uses the same words there not so important and go unchallenged in my forum observations anyway. Wonder why. ?

If the jokes are tinged with satire, timed well and the teller knows their audience, they can be funny

A lot of the time though they just demonstrate outdated attitudes

I don't find those funny

"If the jokes are tinged with satire, timed well and the teller knows their audience, they can be funny

and this is kind of the problem.

As an example i find jimmy carr funny others find he steps over the mark.

the problem with trying to criminalise speech is obvious to me.

folk want strict guidelines on what they can and cant do kind of the opposite of freedom

What is an outdated attitude who determines what is and isnt a correct manner.

Anything that belongs in the past. Someone gave a few examples further up.

And people decide I guess.

If you were part of a group that had been marginalised in some way and part of that was due to the language that had been used to refer to you, would you just put up with it?

You're fairly outspoken on here, so I would doubt that

I laugh if it’s makes me do so, why resist such a pleasant emotion? I really don’t apply morals when it comes to jokes. Those that do, remind me of children that, believe their teeth will fall out if they eat more than two pieces of candy. They have the same deer in the headlights stare and, aghast look when they see me laughing; as if I just downed 6 red bulls and 2 bags of Haribo.

If it were a joke about gingers though, I’d be gathering the local townsmen with their torches and pike’s. (Jokes, I make them myself)

Surely it's just knowing your audience? I made gay jokes with my gay flatmate. We laughed. I make black jokes with my black neighbour, we laugh. They both know that it's a joke, I don't take it too far or cross 'the line'. I don't make gay, black or any other 'offensive' jokes in the pub with people I don't know, regardless of creed, colour, gender or sexual orientation because I don't know if they will be offended, I don't know where their 'line' is.

I also have an acquaintance who drinks in my local pub, and his political views are decidedly to the right. I don't make racist, sexist or homophobic jokes in front of him because I know he takes it seriously, and a joke without humour is no joke at.

For me, there has to be some thought to make it a joke and not an insult, but what I find is the real issue is when people can't tell the difference between joke and opinions, and can't accept that a joke in bad taste does not equate to genuine desire to cause offence.

So now you can only tell a joke if your a clever comedian, its getting more rediculous by every post.

Plus it brings back my earlier comment of some things people say are found offensive but when someone else says the same thing its ok, because there now a clever comedian or blacks dont take offence if blacks make the joke about themselves. Surely your either offended or your not offended, regardless of who makes the joke. ? People get butt hurt only when it suits them .

I think that any jokes that are designed to negatively portray or set aside a group of people based on lazy stereotypes that are used by society to give permission to discrimination are not on.

I think people that trot out terms like “the PC brigade” (I’m looking at you daily mail) do so to try and reflect attention from these behaviours and give themselves permission to continue to behave in a way that they know is becoming outdated and are keen hang on to “the good old days”.

Jokes that are funny can involve people from all walks of life - jokes that rely on stereotypes, lazy bigotry and being offensive for offensive sake are not close to being funny in my opinion

Thats a no no for you.

"

All you’re doing for me is substantiating my view point by adding to my experience of lazy jokes that rely on tired stereotypes. You know the answer before you ask the question - so I’m sure you’re just looking for me to bite and whatvever pleasure you would derive from that process.

If it’s funny to you crack on, I can only believe that this post and the question you’ve put to me is part of the “clinging” on that I previously described by trying to seek validation for your views

"I think that any jokes that are designed to negatively portray or set aside a group of people based on lazy stereotypes that are used by society to give permission to discrimination are not on.

So asking

How do you know you have a blonde woman working in your office,

And replying , theres tippex on the computer screen .

Thats a no no for you.

It was put there as a bit of light hearted humour in response to your post. To see it as bait merely tells me you have no sense of humour whatsoever. Yes the joke was pish lol and the topic of the joke was irrelevant in my view. People like yourself see the bad in every situation and so see the bad in every joke no matter how light hearted it was intended. Step back from my last post and ask yourself , is this guy really making that joke ? And is he really asking me if i think its funny ?

Think about it. ?

I did

Thanks for attempting to tell me what I should think - when isn’t that the whole point of your post? That people should be free to think how they chose, and say what they want?

So, basically if people don’t think like you it’s automatically a negative and you conclude they have no sense of humour? Or is it that they don’t share your humour and subsequently you’re the one that can’t be opened minded and automatically decide they are without the ability to laugh at a (good) joke?

I consider it a baited comment because it was made in spite of me clearly articulating my views on such jokes. So this leads me to conclude that it’s bait (or you’re incapable of adjusting your communication style to suit anyone but yourself ... you can chose which one you think suits you best. I won’t tell you what to think).

It wasn’t funny. End of. It’s the kind of joke that is dying with Jim Davidson’s career. Thankfully
