We’ve recently re-joined the gym and are using the app to get motivated. Did it a few years ago and it really helped.

I'm running a 10k in June....have lost motivation to run.

If anyone is near the Southside and wants to be my running mate, then let me know...be nice to have some company and it will motivate me to run as I wont be able to talk myself out of the run....

Just a wee correction. It’s actually a couch to 10k app we are using. Used it before and it really worked for us.

Apple store just Google couch to 10k. Bright yellow logo.

When doing intervals time slows down for the effort and speeds up on the recovery

Over there

Keep going everyone - first fortnight is toughest.

I did it two years ago. Went from barely making the end of my road without sounding like an asthmatic pug dug to running 5k three times a week...

I've even done a few 10k and a couple of hill runs.

Oddly, I quite enjoy it. Tunes on, nature all around.

Roads burst my knees and calves.

I can see when I stop/can't be bothered, I put that half stone back on in a month.

Keep at it - you do lose weight, you do feel better.

Ok. Two learnings from Day 1.

1) When the support page says walk 90 seconds then run 60 seconds, I didn't realise you had to repeat that

2) Next time I leave the dogs at home.

Ran the Glasgow 10k last year in a pretty decent time.

Then proceeded to sit on my ass for 6 months.

Getting back into it again but starting from scratch.

Lesson learned.

App doesn't give me motivation it helps me set a pace and track improvement as I haven't done any training for years.

Why do people need a personal trainer or follow a training plan they are all the samething
