It’s cooked under the grill so it’s toasted cheese or cheese on toast, if something is roasted it’s done in the oven

This debate... like pineapple on pizza (naw) or marmite (love it) will never be resolved

The cheese is placed on the untoasted side (after a slight buttering) and placed under the grill. Cheese on toast. If it was sliced cheese that’s adding an unnecessary complication to the debate as uncooked cheese should be on plain bread and is a cheese sandwich (or piece).

Oh I thought by toasting both sides it meant toasting both sides first then putting the cheese on and roasting the cheese - I might be doing it right then just calling it roasted cheese

Roasted cheese for me - Cheese on toast for my girlfriend.

I normally toast one side of the bread, then flip over and put the cheese on and grill that side.

At least we don't call it Broiling like the Americans do, as Broiled Cheese sounds wrong.

Slightly toast in the toaster, remove and butter with Philadelphia sweet chilli, top with cheese and some chilli sauce (nandos extra hot will do) and under the grill for few minutes, then sprinkle some onion salt and a little bit of worcestershire sauce on top

Toast n cheese.

Cheese on one side, not toasted on the other, so it's effectively soggy bread with melted cheese on top.
