Seems to be a large range of views on what size individuals think of themselves are....

So whats your view? What do you picture when someone describes themselves? Mine to start the conversation

Slim - guy waist 30 - woman size 8-10

Athletic - guy 30-32 but fit and toned - woman 8-12 but toned

Average - guy 32-34, woman 12-14

Curvy - 32-34 but a bit overweight - woman 14-16

Ample - guy 36-40, woman 18-20

Large - guy 42+, woman 22+

Sorry..... point in my post was to ask what you 'expect' when you see someone describing themselves as one of these things. Question is not about your body shape.

Think your options are probably about what I would select if choosing specific sizes but you could get a lady with a pear shape body and quite busty but still only a 12 who would class themselves as curvy

If someone says athletic I'd think abs.

If someone says slim I'd think skinny.

Anything else inbetween folk have got loads of different takes on.

I mean fabulous can mean super hot or super ample.

Told you..minefield.

That's why I prefare pics to back it up.

Fair point! I tend to expect a womans breasts not to be the driver of her body shape. A size 14 with a c cup is not slimmer than a 12 dd..... or are they???

More often I have seen descriptions of ample or large and then you discover that they are a size 12-14 with dd or e breasts. Doesnt in any way make them ample or large to me.

I think they should do away with the body description and just filter by age, location and what you're looking for sexually.

I've been called slim, athletic and curvy by different men during my adult life. Depends who is looking at you and what they're used to in a partner.

The body type descriptions aren't great, you also have the problem of how people describe themselves Vs what they actually look like.

The descriptions aren't very good match for guys either. I would imagine an open field for you to fill in with your own description would be better.

I don’t expect anything from the profiles cause generally I look at the typed section none of the rest tbh and I chat with folk and then I’ll meet them for a cuppa or they will disappear never to message again or they might again when they’ve forgotten we’ve already chatted lol I meet folk and then make judgements on their appearance etc

Read again.... I said a guy who was a 32-34 waist but a bit overweight..... or a woman who was a 14-16. I was very careful not to say anything about a womans weight. A size 14 is basically average in the UK isnt it?? But I think depending on the women it coukd still be described as average or curvy.

Happy for you to disagree with my suggested descriptions.... the aim of my post was to find out what other people thought.

Which was basically what do you imagine when someone is described as each of these things...?

Seems to have been misinterpreted as either what are you... or this is what it should be.

Interesting.....

I am still not sure how you can offend someone for saying that if a person (thats any person...not a specific individual) describes themselves as .....lets for argument sake use the term .... Whether that person meets the picture in your mind is surely irrelevant??

"Commenting on someone’s weight/size in anyway is a minefield. Size or shape is quite a subjective thing what’s one persons curvy is maybe another’s average

Exactly!!!!! Finally back to the question

Which was basically what do you imagine when someone is described as each of these things...?

Seems to have been misinterpreted as either what are you... or this is what it should be.

Was genuinely interested in what people thought.

As I said commenting is a minefield, I know what I like as will others, don’t see the need to be describing it on the forum as what is my opinion is mines and mines alone and I wouldn’t want to offend (not intentionally) anyone.

Interesting.....

I am still not sure how you can offend someone for saying that if a person (thats any person...not a specific individual) describes themselves as .....lets for argument sake use the term .... 'tall' .... then your first instinct is to imagine someone who is a certain way. Its personal to you as an instinctive thought. Whether that person meets the picture in your mind is surely irrelevant??

Maybe its a bit too deep a conversation .... lol

It’s all about Interpretation, I was quite offended this am by something I read on social media, it was a sweeping generalisation about a type of person and way I read it I fitted into that category and I said my piece.

So as I said I wouldn’t want to offend anyone, what I find attractive someone else won’t do don’t see the need to describe it on here

And it is definitely your right to not give your opinion, even when asked for your opinion!! "

It is my opinion and the only person it matters to is me.

Having been called “fat” in the past (and yes that was on here) I wouldn’t dare comment on anyone’s size

"I tend not to expect anything from the descriptions as everyone’s take on the options are different, we’ve met folk who’ve described themselves as one thing and are actually another. I’ve been described as scrawny and chubby Recent job application medical part told me I was verging on obese I’m a size 12 with GG boobs so that’s why I’ve put curvy

'we’ve met folk who’ve described themselves as one thing and are actually another.'

Exactly!!!!!

My question was all about what you imagine them to be... not what they actually are or are not.

That’s why I don’t imagine them to be anything as nsv said a sumo wrestler is an athlete

Lol... quite frankly.... i dont believe you. You seem to be suggesting that you have no preconceived notions of anything at all.

Not at all, you say your average your pic says to me your slim so by that I’m going on what I see an not on what you’ve picked

K x"

Awww.... I am going to take that as a compliment whether it was meant as one or not...

"Seems to be a large range of views on what size individuals think of themselves are....

So whats your view? What do you picture when someone describes themselves? Mine to start the conversation

Slim - guy waist 30 - woman size 8-10

Athletic - guy 30-32 but fit and toned - woman 8-12 but toned

Average - guy 32-34, woman 12-14

Curvy - 32-34 but a bit overweight - woman 14-16

Ample - guy 36-40, woman 18-20

Large - guy 42+, woman 22+"

To be honest I dont know how to describe myself I'm 6.1 with a 34 waist bit of a poncho but I train hard 3-4 times a week does that make me athletic or average?

"Think your options are probably about what I would select if choosing specific sizes but you could get a lady with a pear shape body and quite busty but still only a 12 who would class themselves as curvy

Fair point! I tend to expect a womans breasts not to be the driver of her body shape. A size 14 with a c cup is not slimmer than a 12 dd..... or are they??? "

Its probably advisable that unless you actually know about women's sizing , not to use it as a decision on if you want to fuck them or not ... like others have said pictures and what you like visually is a better way to work it out

From shop to shop people can range up or down up to 3 dress sizes easily depending on style of clothes, material, just how the shop makes them

Also a 38 C is actually the same size breast as a 36 D ... the only difference is the first will be roomier in the band around the back

Also agree with what other have said about athletics and curvy being a shape and not a size

OP asked how we would imagine people based on their Fab description. It will vary with age we know but just our imagination makes us think : -

Ample - Obese or morbidly obese, very high body fat

Curvy - obese, high body fat

Average - overweight, bit too much body fat

Athletic - lower than average body fat, more toned. Possibly delusional. Lol.

Slim - not overweight, possibly underweight

This is just how we imagine people based on our observations of the site and wider society, where more people are overweight than not . Apparently 80% of 40-60 year olds are overweight so that colours our opinion.

Not trying to have a go at anyone but just judging on the UK statistics. Of course many people will misclassify themselves.

Thanks for getting my original question.

My view not quite in line with yours..... i wouldnt consider curvy to be obese and average wouldnt be overweight......

Having said that... medically what I think as average probably is 'technically' overweight nowadays. But Ive always thought bmi can be nonsense

I’m so “average” I have to wipe my ass with a stick on a sponge and I couldn’t tell you the last time I saw my knob. It’s glandular though!
