Those that do them...how do you survive them?

I cant have my phone on me, so usually read if I can or splash my face with freezing water Haha.

Well when I'm on a night shift I'm required to do actual work so don't have time for my phone or to read

No idea what you do but it sounds cushy

Nah not really, when its quiet it's a long shift, when it's not its non stop.

Nightshift is the best shift ever. Takes time to get used to it for some and some never get used to it.

I cant read on nightshift makes me sleepy, if it's a quiet shift I exercise and eat to keep myself awake

Regularly do 12hr nightshifts 12 midnight to 12 midday

Will be doing 5 weeks of nights this trip in Nigeria

The heat is a killer

Often struggle to sleep on my rest period until my body adjusts

Nights are good as not so many grown up around until morning

I do 12hr nightshifts and i enjoy them, keep yourself busy, find something to do as you do hit a wall, i tend to do exercise, put some music on, reading does not help as it just makes me want to sleep

I love being night shift. It helps that I can get as much as 9 hours sleep if I need it. If I wake up early I would go back to bed for a few hours before work. I've been on nights for 22 years so think I'd struggle on any other shift pattern.
