a massive protest has been arranged for the Arlington baths, and many other locations up and down the country, as they are promoting these events as family events and are allowing children to attend, and they are allowing spectators at some locations, and no background checks are done on those attending, IE- to see if they are sex offenders. Paedophile hunting groups have jumped on this, and are arranging protests and petitions to have the events stopped, or organised better, excluding kids.

If no fun why do they have to be naked in a sauna? Surely shorts or a swimming costume is ok?

I love being naked. Its just so liberating. Swim wear in saunas is so uncomfortable.

Not much different from going topless on a crowded beach. I will never let the minority stop me from what i enjoy doing.

and this is the problem with the world we live in.

For some folk these are family events just because some equate nudity with sex dosnt make it so.

Why would should there be backgeound checks for anything big brother gone nuts.

for you nudity is a bad thing its not the same for everyone for some its normality and putting clothes on is a crazy thing they gotta do to go outside an area.

If you were not conditioned to see nudity as bad it would be normal we werent born clothed lol.

I'm not opposed to it kola.

But kids should be given a choice.the thought of seeing my parents naked would have scared me for life lol

My kids seen me in baths up until a age were it just wasn't appropriate.a line needs to be drawn.

i dont think they are forced to go i think for them thats normal family life.

You chose a point where you decided it wasnt appopriate i rhink believers in nudity dont have that point because for them being clothed is the abnormality not being naked.

Arlington Baths - there's notices in the reception area that say the management have decided that because of protests the weekly Sunday night naturist swimming is restricted to adults only as of 17 March onwards & says on the Arlington Baths facebook page adults only

Having been to a number of spas in Europe I can attest to the fact that its nothing more than liberating and there is nothing more equalizing than everyone being neckit... no brands, no bling just people.

I also personally think it helps a lot with issues of body image and the insecurities that come along with it. When you are surrounded by a hundred or more people with there bodys on show you quickly realise that no-one looks like the airbrushed cover model (or pornstars if thats more your thing lol)

The majority of people observe the etiquette of wearing a towel or robe between pools or rooms and no it doesnt feel like folk are perving, mostly because theyre not. (I will however admit to checking out some AMAZING tattoos that wouldnt normally be on show!)

This is down to the fact that its the norm and nudity is not sexualised in the same way as here where most people will hide there bodies away in comformance with the morals and ethics of Brittish culture.

That being said... Having kids and "spectators" is a spa is a bit weird to say the least!

I didnt say perverts.. I said perversions, for example folk in there 20s, 30s and up learing as soon as as they see a wee bit of flesh.

Spas are just an example, its the same as over censorship of photography, TV and other things.

background checks to ensure there are no sex offenders/paedophiles attending, especially if kids are allowed to attend. Nothing to do with big brother, it's child protection. The UK currently has 80-90k sexual predators/paedophiles. And they will use these naturist events to get their sick kicks, if kids are allowed to attend.

I quite like cutting around in my bday suit as well. but the majority of the public don't think kids should be at these sort of events, my original comment on here wasn't to stir trouble, it was just to make members aware that protests are being planned, in case they get caught up in any of them. These protests will be streamed live on facebook, so some folk may not want to be seen. There was a protest at a similar event in blackpool a few weeks ago. and folk attending the event, were seen on the live streams getting broadcast on social media.

the entire population doesn't want to attend naked swim events with kids. and it's already mandatory anyone working with kids or vulnerable adults must pass a CRB check, so i don't see the problem with ensuring anyone who wishes to swim naked around children should also submit a CRB/Disclosure, purely for peace of mind.

your view to me is the scary part.

You think of nudity as sex you think a disclosures a good thing.there are folk in my mind so blinded by departmentalised views they fail to see anything around them.

The very folk making these claims in both the house of commons and lords Aint no gods theres a list of mps and meps registered on the list.

Folk might be swimming quick get them on the sex offenders list cmon think about what your advocating its maddness

We are all born naked there for we should be allowed to be naked anytime anywhere and I believe if we were more open to this approach we would see a reduction in sex crimes a reduction in anxiety and depression, eating disorders etc there is nothing sexual about being naked it's about time we taught our kids this

To be honest I wouldn’t be comfortable being naked around children even although naturism is a lifestyle, I guess I was meaning a spa where perhaps they had a mixed adult session where adults could have a swim, sauna or steam room without wearing a costume

I still walk around naked in front of my kids all the time my bf doesn’t agree with it and thinks it’s inappropriate but to me I gave birth to them I fed them my body is their nurturing there’s nothing sexual in me and my kids relationship so why should I cover up, my kids have great sense of self and body image they’ve seen the wobbly bits the scars etc they’re not ashamed or awkward they probably know more about sex and predatory behaviour than most kids, I’ve spoken openly about my own abuse as a child and latterly as an adult, I want them to feel comfortable in their owns skin but still make them aware that not everyone views bodies the same or for the same agendas. I think there are far too many vigilante types out there and tbh they scare me more than the predators. Not only that the ones who go online to intentionally try and trap folk that just doesn’t sit well with me at all just because someone is of a certain age doesn’t mean their intellect or social age is the same as their physical age and plenty young girls pretending to be older than they are I’m sorry regardless of someone is chatting to you and your feeling low and suddenly they are complimenting you and taking time to talk to you it can be hard not to get carried away, it’s very easy to manipulate anyone into saying anything when you find something to make them feel good about themselves

I agree that the vigilante groups cause more problems and there are other things to consider such as maturity etc

Also the vigilantes are jeopardizing trials of sex offenders as how can a person outed online get a fair trial as you can’t guarantee the juror haven’t seen the videos and have made up their mind before the evidence is heard therefore a good lawyer will get the offender acquitted due to unfair trial.

If hunting teams were vigilantes, the suspects would be getting ropes tied round their necks, not presented to the police. And whats this about maturity? if someones mature, it doesn't matter if they are underage? sorry, but that would still be illegal. And as for jeopardising, trials, there has been a 70% increase in trails due to the work of the hunting teams, and they don't intentionally try and trap anyone, the suspect is always the first one to establish contact, and as soon as they hear the age of the person they are talking to and elect to continue the conversation, that is them committing their first offence IE- Grooming, some of these cases, there are 400-500 pages of chatlogs, the judge or jury are left with no illusion, regarding the grooming, and intentions of the suspect. Last count there was over 140 hunting teams up and down the country, as with any walk of life, there are a few bad egg`s, but on the whole, they are doing good work and helping clean the streets and making the place a bit safer for kids. Here's a test case, go on google and look up Gary Allmark, Ayrshire. Successfully tried and found guilty, now awaiting sentencing.
