Hi.

We are a new couple and we would like to say hello to everyone in the Scottish room.

We have had lots of messages welcoming us to the site. A bit overwhelming - we appreciate all messages.

Can anyone give us some recommendations for clubs in Scotland and North England please?

We hear cjs is worth a visit?

Thanks for your time.

What makes it great?

I’ve had a few messages tonight saying stay clear of after 8.

Is it that bad?

We enjoyed After 8 when we went, but other people have warned me off it as well. Usually they've been really vague so I don't know why they're warning me off.

From what I gather, they have different atmospheres. After 8 felt like a small bar or a big house party. I've heard that CJs is much bigger.

Central Scotland

We went to CJs for the first time last week. Seemed to be all really well organised for numbers and security etc. Lots of social spaces downstairs and lots of play rooms upstairs. Definitely want to go on a quieter night too to see what it's like as the valentines party was really busy.

I’d say go along and make your own mind up, everyone is different.

We enjoy Cjs and are lucky that we’re a 10 minute drive. If you’re looking down south club f never disappoints

Blantyre

Myself mrs s_e devil and another single female friend went to after 8 on Friday and it was quite busy, lots of couples and about 8 single guys and a few single fems. All in all quite balanced numbers.

Yes the after 8 is a much smaller venue but as far as atmosphere etc are different in there own ways. Yes cjs is bigger but on a quiet night it means people are spread around a large venue and it can be hard to get involved in chat with just pockets of wee groups as opposed after 8 when its quiet is still easy to meet people in a small venue.

Best advice already given, go along and make your own minds up as everyones opinions will differ where clubs are concerned.

I attend cjs regularly not a big fan of after8 but I’d definitely recommend going to the townhouse (the Wirral) if your heading down that way I try to go 2/3 times a year if possible.

I’ve been to after8 and hated it. Tiny wee place with a group of regulars who were very suspicious of new people lmao far too many single blokes ready to pounce on anything with a pair of tits. The lassie I was with said she didn’t feel safe so we left.

I’ve been to Cjs too. I’ve decided am no a club person but given the choice of the two I’d go to Cjs it’s less seedy

I loved the staff in after8 they couldn’t be any nicer and the location was great, upstairs wasn’t the largest area to socialise it was just one open space in but certainly Meant you could easily get chatting to folk, I just found downstairs far too small and claustrophobic for my liking, not a lot of room to squeeze past folk in the corridors and felt quite intimidated by it all as soon as you step down the stairs the first room in front of you is a viewing room I found odd putting and anyone who knows me knows I’m not really the kind of person to feel that way but it just wasn’t for me, if I were to go again it wouldn’t be a lingerie night as I was attracting unwanted attention and I’d stick to upstairs socialising and chatting.

Cjs is much larger the whole place is huge and spacious and lots of different areas to socialise with different themes going on, the bar and dance floor share the same music system but separated by a glass partition, the pole and cage room has its own music system and very very large and spacious, the kitchen has a small radio which I don’t think most folk know is even on as it’s so quiet and loads of space to chat. Upstairs lots of rooms and plenty of space to chill and socialise without having to see anything that going on great big corridors etc and the dungeon can be a good laugh not so serious

Both places have a different variety of regulars that go but for the most part everyone is very friendly on the scene but defo make your own mind up about everything, don’t take anything anyone says for granted as there are a small minority who try to intimidate for their own agendas

I’ve had great times at both cjs and after 8, what I found personally is that the people that go to after 8 and have never or barely been to cjs are the ones that have bad things to say about cjs and people that go to cjs that have not been or barely been to after 8, in my experience they’re both a lot of fun I have had a great time at both and anyone that is actually willing to talk to people and not just coming to expect a shag(which happens often at both in my experience) have a great time! But if you just sit and not talk to people then you won’t talk to anyone, you turn into your own worst enemy it comes down to personal preference I suppose, my opinion on it is that after 8 is more like a house party and cjs is more like a nightclub, but that’s just my two cents

I’ve been to both and prefer CJs.

I found after8 to be small and cramped (it is a converted flat), and I kept getting groped by a male staff member despite being blatantly not interested. I chatted to a few nice people but equally thought there were too many single men, it seemed like anyone could just turn up and get in.

CJs is spacious, with plenty of room to socialise and play, and CJ operates a booking only system so numbers of single men on open to all evenings are manageable. Yes when it’s quiet it can be hard to socialise; the upside is that you can get a playroom, which can be difficult sometimes when it’s too busy and you don’t want to be in an open room.

The only way to know which one suits you, if either will, is to go and try them.

Was at the afternoon meet earlier in the month and it was a bit too quiet .. so somewhere in between I think would be perfect

We were at after8 on Friday, it wasn't to busy we were made to feel welcome buy couples and some of the guys.

The only thing that lefts after8 down is it's quite cramped.

Cjs is huge and like after8 has a friendly atmosphere.

Cjs can be a bit busy though due to the size and numbers.
