Horror of turning into your parent(s)

I found myself lecturing/advising my youngest the other day and I sounded just like everything I hated about my old dead Da , I apologised and now fixated that it’s beyong my control .....anyone else , ( though don’t think ma Da was on a sex site ......)

I'm more likely to sound like my Dad than my Mum. Wee Maw is a total OCD neat freak, forever moaning about the mess and plumping up cushions.

You are you. You may have taken bits of your parents teachings during your up bringing. But it is you and your own methods and learnings that you pass down to the next generation.

How you express this is probably the most important job you will ever have as a parent.

That sounds exactly like my mum. Don’t think even dust has the chance to settle in her house!
