Hi all, after some advice.

We planning on visiting & traveling around south of scotland in summer this year not sure on the dates yet july / August are ball park area.

What games are the best to visit while there?

If you were heading a bit further towards Glasgow I would recommend the Lomond and Cowal games.

Central Scotland

Definitely worth heading a bit further up for Highland games. The Crieff gathering is always a good one

The South of Scotland where I stay only has border games which is athletics only with no highland events.

If you Google Scottish highland games association you will get a full list of all events from central belt and further north.

I would highly recommend Braemar royal highland gathering.

I'm not sure how southern you're going but Burntisland has a huge highland games/market. Grew up there and it was always packed with people from all over Scotland

Go to the highlands for the highland games. Anything else is a poor imitation.
