Is it an on going fitness/health regime you've started ? You'll lose a lot of liquid then the fat will start to come off. 17lbs is quite a result and no doubt boosted your determination, everyone hits the dreaded plateau at some point, I've plateaud out twice and the best advice I can give you is ignore it, so many people get demoralised by it because they're eating healthy and exercising their asses off and wondering why their weights not moved either way for as long as 4 months but keep going, don't make any changes and you'll feel it when the plateaus over.

You'd be amazed at the ways you gain and lose weight, chewing food with your mouth open causes weight gain because you're swallowing air which gets trapped in the millions of fat cells in your body. You can also burn calories by exhaling them, 70% of the calories anyone burns is through everyday bodily functions, even sleeping can burn off up to a couple of lbs. Your biggest enemy is the scales, I binned mine a long time ago. I see the same people going into the gym every day and standing on the scales before and after their session , that's totally pointless and I'd be surprised if any of them weren't the same weight as they were before their session. X

Drinking too much at the weekends with the bad eating habits and disruption to my normal routine that comes with it is my problem. Otherwise I try and cut out the obvious junk and get my five-a-day rather than starve myself. It does work, but you know, alcohol...

I tried cutting out red meat but found I had a lack of energy so I have steak a couple of times a week and just go without the nastier kind like bacon or kebab meat, etc. Instead, I now cut out bread which is hard it first but you certainly feel a lot better. But you know...alcohol

Hope you don't mind but had a look through your profile and if I was more confident at expressing myself I'd probably have said a lot of what you said on your profile. As for your pics, you must have a great photographer because you certainly don't look like you have to lose much if anything at all, you're typical of what I said elsewhere in the forum , another gem amongst the odd rough diamond.. sometimes you just know someone's a thoroughly decent person before you even know them on a personal level. I really do love this site, it's the only site where I have an active profile for the first time ever. FAB people indeed xx

Thah is not the same as breaking down fat while you sleep. The only way to break down fat is to increase your metabolic rate, i.e. Through exercise or by modifying your diet sensibly. Dieting just breaks down muscle in the first instance. But the having an apple to avoid pillaging the sweetie cupboard will work.

Im living out of suitcases with work still so im blaming to many hotel meals and full cooked breakfasts. Hopefully the scales will look better on 1st April . Will keep everyone posted.

First fortnight you get big loses your now in the slow loss area but stop looking at weight and do inches across body parts.

your body is changing shape due to diffrent composition.

This is very true about the giving up part, not slipped back to chocolate and stuff but definitely started eating a bit more last fortnight. Really gonna have to be more disciplined for this coming month. Thx for comments again guys.

"Have you got a fitbit devil? I challenge you to a fitbit off! Do you accept?

I love challenges but i dont have a Fitbit. I use an App that measures my walks etc , nothing special. Are you trying to lose weight too. ?

"

I don't weigh myself but measured myself when I started. Trying to get fitter too

Ok so even though its April fools day it still means i gotta do my 1st of the month weigh in.

4 pound loss last month .

Quite disappointing but i have been eating out of hotels for the last month and went well off plan at weekends having a few chinese meals and other very bad stuff when home. Back on the healthy eating wagon for me now and hoping i can be a bit more disciplined than the last month.
