I really fancy popping my club cherry but I'm well nervous about going. Any advice about what event to try first?

I suggest you go to Cjs on a themed night as well attended and always great fun. Check out Cjs web page and check out dates at there is a few coming up... Burns party, valentines party and Easter party. Honestly you will love it so dont be nervous.

Shoebox is a privately run party like set up in a domestic venue masquerading as a club.

From your profile I would say you have very varied tastes so best bet to check out CJs page for all parties and go to one that meets your criteria. As said alread the themed nights are the busiest.

I wouldn’t recommend after8 I find it too small and crammed full of single men

It would be good to get more couples and single females' opinion on each of these...

I've never been to shoebox, but didn't cjs start the same way... in a residential home which took years to get to where it is now?

Just saying

Bit unfair to claim your fav is a club but another is masquarading as a club.

It has the same buisness model so its the same thing.

Turn up pay money socialise have sex if you want.

Op from what folk have said it totally depends on what your looking for research your options dont take what random folk on fab say as gospel myself inc.

Contact the places yourself and weigh that up against other options that would also fulfil what your after

Same thing here with us , very nervous but dying to pop our club cherry, think the most scary part for us is walking through the door not knowing anyone and not knowing the etiquette of a club

My main worry is this and also what if you walked in and saw you best mate and his wife or so something.

Opinions are like arseholes, everyone has one and those are my opinions. Dislike them if you will, doesn’t make me want to change them.

If I decided to run parties operating out of my garden shed by your logic that makes it a club. In mine it doesn’t. To me a club is a commercial business in commercial premises. I wouldn’t go to a friends home for a few drinks and class that as a club either.

As for being crammed with single men. It has been any time I’ve been. As you said it may not be the case now, I wouldn’t know as don’t plan to go back. However it does have the potential to be over filled with men because they don’t limit the numbers of them allowed in, which is why I wouldn’t consider giving it another go.

OP asked for advice, I gave him mine based on actual experience of each place mentioned.

He doesn’t need to take it.

On a side note it’s laugable how many people block you for not liking certain clubs.

What was that about cliques??!!!!

My advice would be use the forum to get to to know a few people on fab who go and then message them, say you are going on a certain night and ask them to say hello if they are there.

Club etiquette is basically, be friendly and chat, no means no and always ask before assuming you can join.

My man has met several people he knows at clubs and it’s never been an issue as they are there for the same and probably value their privacy too

Why would that be a problem? You are all there for the same thing surely? Downstairs in cj's is a non playing bar/kitchen/sitting area.

Ive bumped into folk I've known for years.

Discretion is the key, all there for the exact same reason.

Unless you aren't single but playing alone and bump into someone you know who then decides to be 'all up in your business'...

I was more worried about turning up, chatting to a couple couple for a while, one thing leads to another and as you're balls deep your best mates wife taps you on the shoulder "hi Stew. You having fun?" Haha

I think most people lock the doors when in a room, not always granted. And single guys aren't allowed in some rooms.

first timers are always made welcome and given a tour by the owners when you arrive. This will give you a chance to ask any questions you have.

Having my first trip to cj’s this Saturday just waiting on conformation.

First time for me (single male) just going to meet people, chat and have a look really.

Anyone want to have a social before they go in?
