Before long the mention of cake, along with straight jackets & meds’ became popular, particularly with new folk to the Forums. Like many “catchphrases” it was repeated frequently & ad nauseum until most had actually forgotten why it came about. As Forumites moved on the phrase was almost forgotten about until 2019 when someone (who had enjoyed cake & even used the catchphrase) resurrected it. There are also other mentions of cake on other Fab Scrolls littered around the Forums, along with Haribo, Kola Bottles & other assorted goodies, however cake still seems to be the nibble of choice & tops the polls as most popular confectionery... though buns, baps & donuts also have a healthy following amongst many Forumites. * Disclaimer: None of the above can be verified by carbon dating.
