If you Saved the original message it will still be there but not showing in the 50 most recent Saved Messages. Depending on how long ago or how precious your Saved Messages are you can either Delete or Unsave some messages & the older ones will reappear. The same applies to your Read Messages.

Hope your friends haven’t left the site or got a new profile. Good luck with your quest OP.
