Well after 18 months separated and not because of anything other than it being to much for our families to live in the same house and be happy , I was being told by friends and family that a carrot was being dangled and I couldn’t see it!!!

Always happy to help, listen or be there but the last couple of months that infamous carrot began to show and with it a realisation that not only is completely over any friendship we thought could overcome anything and a basis of what we had in the beginning was also going very quickly so meeting tomorrow after work to sort out the proper legal requirements to end what we had thought was till death do us part ..

Hope this isn’t to depressing and I see it as hopefully a new fresh start for me xx

Been there, done that and got the medals lol Seems all a bit weird at first but found it took a while to drag myself up by my socks and now try and make the best of anything that comes along. It does take a while to adjust!

Keep chin up son

couldn't agree more it is hard but can turn out for the best. Luckily never had to include the old legal eagles and managed to sort things out between us.

Wish you the best of luck. It will take time (still adjusting myself) and it may we’ll be hard work. You seem to know it’s the right thing which is the hardest thing to come to terms with. The rest is an adventure.

To be brutally honest would have cost us £53,000+ lost between us if we had done what solicitors had said. When pointed this out to them they weren't happy so we walked away and sorted ourselves out. Still not easy but plenty of talk think we have managed it.

Honestly it can be difficult sometimes putting up a topic and fearing no one posts but thanks guys , support and advice from similar people in similar situations and when I guy who is feeling as optimistic as can be, deep down to admit probably what he’s known a long time still not easy!! But feel better for sharing !!

Jesus imagine if I got a bloody Oscar I’d never feckin shut up

Been there too but sometimes it’s for best, sort as much out for yourselves as you can. Some days will be great and some will not be so great but keep moving forward, I think worse bit is admitting it’s over

Eventually met and basically ye decided we would take four weeks to cut out the ways we can contact each other and only way from that point email !!

Maybe sounds daft but we do message a lot still but that’s now not going to happen anymore, sad it’s come to this and the real stupid way it has and maybe 20/30 years ago this would not ever split a married couple lol
