In the “General” forum compared to the Scottish one.

Rarely post in general chat and more a reader but my interest is spiked way more with the topics and discussions.

Are scottish forumites less educated, less balanced and less fun than the rest of those in general chat ?

Discuss....

Cheeky bass !!!!!

Do you think maybe there are more people in the general chat rooms ie England, Wales , Ireland and the world, as oppposed just mostly Scottish people.

Feckin less educated. Some definitely are.

You know how to play a dangerous game

But I'm inclined to agree. I'd say the Scottish forum has lots of banal threads that just don't tickle my tickly bits

There is no chance of that ever happening. Some people dont want to admit they are a part of a particular type of group of people ie a forumite. so float around the peripherals of discussions popping in only to serve a personal need. Never putting theirselves out there by starting a thread as that would be conforming and accepting they are part of it and can no longer be a judge of it.But if they looked closer they would see they are part of that group whether they like it or not.

Not sure what you're on about here. I've started a couple of threads in the past but mostly I just like to pop in and out of other ones with a dry comment or 2

I’m just here for the banter and the Scottish forum is a hoot we don’t take things too seriously mostly ! and if there’s a serious topic someone wants to discuss I’m kinda glad they don’t use this forum as often as the general ones because these posts often cause much more deep rooted debate and simply lower the mood of the Scottish forums, I know when I’m in the mood to be serious I can go look elsewhere but generally there’s nothing in the Scottish forum to trigger me as it were for emotional debates

Central Scotland

There's far fewer of us.

At least in here most of us recognise names or actual people from socials etc and it's often more of a chat. Easier to get to know the twunts generally out to stir things too

In the larger sections... Well sometimes I find there's so many contributing that comments get lost or by the time I've posted its irrelevant or too late in the thread and that annoys me. Far more racist/biggoted/mysoginistic types too. That, I think, is probably just a reflection on the numbers though.

Agree with the numbers game but feel more leniancy is given on general than in here regarding say something more “controversial*

By controversial do you mean I would like to see Mrs doggy and wellinever get into a debate in a pub over the etiquette of Scotland forums and what can and can't be discussed. If you are I'm with you there would pay to have a ringside seat ,as Long as I could have my dram at the table also

I prefer the lounge forum over the Scottish one. I have done for many years.

In general I think there are more interesting people posting there.

I've certainly met some great people through it too.

Here is my tuppence worth.. I love the Scottish forum.. On the whole it's not that difficult to belreak into the so called "clique" if you are willing to put in the time and effort.. It's a place to have your say... As long as you don't take it too seriously or personally. (especially when you have an inkling that it might be personal). Yes... People can be arseholes, but I find that's the beauty of it all.. I know some people find alot of my contributions and by association me a bit of an arsehole. (they have told me as much too). But it's worth remembering that everyone will find someone else that rubs them up the wrong way... Enjoy..
