"Ok...now do you out sausages in it or just steak. " If I’m making a steak and sausage pie they aye and I’ll maybe even throw in a few mushrooms as well but when it’s for the bells or neer day then it’s only steak as traditionally it’s supoosed to be the finest feed and sausages and anything else are for when you’re a bit cash strapped and want to pack it out with cheaper cuts Total sacrilege though are these monstrosities of pies with sorry had to stop from being sick at the thought !!! Kidney !!!!!!! Hoachin, boggin, stinkin, rancid

"Ok...now do you out sausages in it or just steak. " During the year just steak but if you need to pad it out for new year or another big family event then add sausages. This is an ongoing argument with friends but I’m right.

" Hahaha see I’m kinda with you in the if there’s loads of folk then the sausages add more meat but for New Years and the festive in general I go all out extravagant I don’t even look at the food bill I’m a feeder and this time of year I showcase my cooking

"Short crust pastry or puff pastry.. What's you preference.? Is it not a steak pudding if it resembles short and should only ever be steamed ! The only time any meat is allowed in pastry that isn’t puff is pork pies, mince pies and pasties Anything other than puff is an abomination to all these amazing hand me down recipes of our great Scottish grandparents " you get puff steak pie shortcrust steak pie and a steak pudding is made with suet pastry and steamed ya can also get a steakpie with water pastry (think pork pie)

" Just haggis neeps and tatties for me at burns, if I’m making it just because I’ll make mince with it as kids won’t eat a lot of haggis Something I never see down this way is suet beef olives I have to get them from Aberdeen everyone else uses sausagemeat but the best I’ve ever had is a wee butcher in queen street Peterhead
